Wow it is really hard to eat right when traveling. We went on a last minute weekend getaway, and I know I didn't eat the right things. I was soooo thirsty the whole time. What saved me while we were eating out with the family was my sugar free fruit punch mix and just ordering meat. It is WAY more difficult to do than I thought.

Need some advice, my weightloss was going great but I have stalled and am slightly gaining over the last 4 days. I'm wondering if its because I am completely blocked up. I tried taking milk of magnesia last week and it left me feeling sick and weak all night long. Scared to try Magnesium citrate cause it may make me go too much to the point of dehydration. I'm now putting Benefiber in my water/mio mix to see if it helps. Not seeing any loss and the slight gaining is kinda defeating. Is anyone else experiencing this and how long did it last?

I've been up and walking around! If I get some more fluids in today then they'll take out the iv. My pain is very controlled and really just feels like muscular aches. The surgeon says I'm a model patient' date=' and can't wait to see all of my exciting changes!

I am going through this and it has been 9 days, up 3 lbs but I have been eating more and not doing the Protein Shakes as much, and Aunt Flo getting ready to visit is the most likely culprit of the gain. I was just stalled but then in the last 2 days I gained. It feels completely frustrating but I know this happens and the loss will happen again soon. I had surgery on 4/15.

My tummy gurgles all the time. Whether I am eating or not. I will be 7 weeks post op tomorrow. When I put on the first bite is when it does the most.

I'm fine in this area thank goodness. Have you tried Miralax? It is very gentle. I would try it every other day to see how it goes.

Today is five weeks for me, and this just started happening to me. Everytime I eat, I gurgle! It is very annoying and I was beginning to think maybe I had a blockage. Glad to know it happens to others!

I swallowed my gum accidentally. I hope my pouch can handle it!

I was a HUGE gum chewer pre op. My surgeon said "absolutely no gum because you can swallow it and cause huge problems!" I thought, " I have never swallowed my gum", so I've been thinking about cheating! Guess it can happen accidently! ;) hope it didn't cause you any problems!

Wow, I've been away from this post for a while but as I'm reading some of the posts I'm seeing so many of the problems I've had along the way. I had major issues with throwing up constantly, there were some items I could get down and they would stay down but so many things my pouch did not like and came right back up. It got to the point where I was worried I was cause major damage to my pouch. So they put me on Omeprazole (prescription strength Prilosec) and since then it has been working out so far pretty good, except I did accidently forget to take the meds before I ate one night and paid the price for that mistake but generally speaking with the meds it's much better now. I too have had the "blocked" issue for a couple days recently so I did the Milk of Magnesium (my instructions tell me I can due 1 tbls) so I did that and it work better than I expected the very next morning.... so that seems to be a bit better for now anyway. The only issue I now have is I don't feel like I'm at the eating point I should be at, mainly because of the constant throwing up issue I was having I think it set me back on my schedule, because I'm going in for my 6 week post op appointment next week and I would think that would be when I would be told I could advance to the next stage (stage 4 for me) but I don't think I can because I still don't eat a lot of thing yet that would help me advance... I still only eat, tuna fish mash potatoes, hamburger, white fish, chicken, etc. what they call the mushy proteins.... but I still haven't had veggies yet (because I was constantly throwing those up) the whole thing was making me crazy for a while there, the only thing I could do was concentrate on the fact that I was still losing the weight and that was a positive.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
