Off meds and WIDE AWAKE

Recommended Posts

I decided I would try the night with no pain meds. I'm in very little pain and can go all day without so why not right? WIDE AWAKE! You'd think I was on crack or something' date=' can't sit still, can't lay still, RLS, tossing and turning and not once falling asleep! Ugggh[/quote']

Lol yes yes yes me too and now my wounds itch really bad!!

I had the same issue. I took Benadryl for like 3 days after I got off pain meds just to help me sleep then I quit that. Now I sleep fine at night.

That's funny because I thought about doing that but forgot to buy some today.

some people can handle pain better than others so is actually up to the individual. but try not to take a chance of being addicted to pain pills.< /p>

Umn bad idea for the pain med only when you can't take it any longer, you need to be comfortable while recovering. Waiting until your in pain to take the meds umn no no. I'm a registered nurse and people wait to long to take meds then can't control there pain and come in to ER, trust me I know I work in a ER.

there’s a REASON they give you pain meds and not just ONE pill - it’s not an everlasting gobstopper...although if I could come up with that it would be codine laced in my world.

and people - Dr’s don’t willy nilly prescribe pain meds - and - the check and balance is the pharmacy - they don’t over fill those scripts either. Listen to NurseTAB

Unfortunately I take ambien to sleep. Without it, I'll be up until 3 or 4 am.

DID. NOT. GET. sleep. ;•(

Took 2 Benadryl at 9:30- then again at 1:30- finally fell asleep on the couch at 5 am to be woken up at 6! Ugh I think this is going to cause an emotional break down. I want sleep. I don't want to be wired like this all the time.

I just spoke with them. They said I could try tylonal PM or call my pcp and get something stronger.

FYI Tylenol pm has diphenhydramine in it...which is BENADRYL....so yeah, waste of your money if the Benadryl didn't do it. I haven't slept worth a darn either...I though since I started working full time this week that I'd be exhausted and just crash but nope, not happening.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
