Surgery tomorrow. Should I get magnesium citrate?

I have been on liquid diet for a week and haven't had a bm since Saturday. No one mentioned anything about magnesium citrate, but I'm wondering if I should run to Walgreens and get some. I'm feeling a little constipated, so I guess I should take care of that before the morning, eh? Do you know how it affects the post-op gas?

I don't think it has anything to do with the gas. I would definitely do it if you feel constipated. You will not want to be straining after surgery.

Be ready though it works.

My dr prescribed 2 bottles the day before. 1 at noon and the other at 6 to do a bowel cleanse...if that helps at all...lol

After surgery you will be constipated as well. I'm on a Facebook group and soooo many conversations are about how happy ppl are cuz they Finally pooped after a week or more out! LoL
