How many weeks out are you? You can eat chocolate without dumping? I'm so scared to try that...

I'm 7 months out. I didn't try chocolate or sweets of any kind until I was 5 months out and the. It was just a bite. And there is very littleof it that I eat. One square of dove dark chocolate has 4 grams of sugar and I eat it at the end of the meal so that it won't go straight through me. It's a rare treat for me but I've discovered that it keeps me from eating sugar free pudding or sugar free ice cream, etc. that I hear that others eat to get their sweet fix and that one piece of dark chocolate is less calories. I am certainly not advocating that anyone else eat chocolate but for me, it's a small indulgence that's under the 10 grams of sugar that my nut recommends and I'm choosing the path of moderation long term.

Hmm. I noticed a lot of people say they can't have lettuce or salads. I am almost three weeks out and my nutritionist said I could work them into my diet at the beginning of week three. I had my first salad yesterday and just dipped it in the dressing and I tolerated it just fine! Granted I could not eat very much at all oh and I had my surgery on the 24th of January.

I eat salad everyday with some meat and fruit mixed in, because it's good and I can't tolerate not eating some veggies

I also use hot sauce here and there. My surgery was Dec. 2012, as well.

Cream of chicken breasts.

Ingredients

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

1 pinch poultry seasoning

1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken Soup

1 (10.75 ounce) can milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Place chicken in a 9x13 inch baking dish and season to taste.

Mix soup with soup can of milk/half-and-half/water (if desired, use 2 cans to make sauce thicker). Pour soup mixture evenly over chicken and bake in the preheated oven for about 1 1/2 hours or until chicken is no longer pink and is tender.

I used chicken tenderloins and I cooked in a pan first and seasoned not completely just a little. I cooked in oven 30 min. I served with cauliflower mashed potatoes. Yum.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
