I very rarely am at a loss for words...but I am in just a "blah" mood this evening. Mondays suck....thank goodness the work day part is over.

I will be glad when someone that does not know I have the band says something to me about my weight loss. When someone does, I think I will jump on whoever it is smother them with kisses ;)

When that happens, I will know that I gave up hamburgers for a good reason....

Tracy - Nobody has noted my loss either....BUT THEY WILL!!! Just keep doin' what you're doin'!!! You absolutely did give up hamburgers for a very good reason...they're the supreme killer beast of the food world! Yucky! Pooey!!

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DBF and I JOINED A GYM TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and get this........ my first workout is going to be....

TOMORROW morning.... I am setting the alarm for 4:30 a.m......

I can not believe I just typed that....

4:30 a.m. ..............

Wooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooo!!

Go Tracy, Go Tracy, Go Tracy!

This totally made my day!! Tracy, you won't be sorry. Just keep going, even when you don't feel like it and before you know it you're a 'junkie'!!! I hope you get to try the Zumba class someday. I went last night and it was SO much fun. I wouldn't have made it all the way through the class 2 months ago and would have been discouraged. It's quite a workout! I was so red in the face (always am) and sweating like a PIG but I was smiling the entire time so that's a great sign. My point is, just take it easy and go slow. Don't push yourself too hard with any workout at first or you will be discouraged. But it doesn't take long to start feeling a real difference...3 weeks or so. I'm so excited for you! :D
I ate taco salad for dinner...god I don't know but I feel like I'm slipping back to my old habits....I don't know how to overcome this! I'm not really hungry until I start to eat something that tastes good... :help:
Denise, thanks for telling us about Zumba! If it wasn't for you, I would have never tried that class! Had a wonderful time and it kicked my butt....which is a good thing! ;) DH went too (he's hispanic so I thought he would like it) and it kicked him hard too...maybe too hard!! Don't know if he'll go back.LOL

Uh, what's wrong with a taco salad??? I wouldn't have a problem with that! What the heck are you beating yourself up for?

hey everyone. I had a fantastic day

I got a call from a high class hotel I applied for a bartending job at and have an interview tomorrow. Then I went to lunch with some friends, had 1/4 cup of tuna, I could not eat anymore, and ran into a co-worker I have not seen since the fall, HE DIDN'T RECOGNIZE ME!!!! HOW ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC IS THAT. He told me he said could not be me then when he saw me again had to come see if it was, he was amazed, told me how fantastic I look and we actually chatted for a long time. Just friends, but boy did it feel great for a guy to say all that great stuff.

Jenn - That is absolutely incredible!! I'm so happy for you. I can only imagine how good that made you feel! What a GREAT day!! :D

I think that the time has come... to start... EXERCISING! There! I said it! Have I ever mentioned before that I am NOT an exerciser?? Oh dear. Well, let's amend that to say, until NOW I haven't been. So I will start by committing to walking at the park EVERY DAY this week. There. That shouldn't kill me! (lol!)

This ALSO made my day!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!

VIOLETS ROCK!!! :):):banana:youcandothis::D:Banane08:

Tracy~I set the alarm for 4:45 today, but woke up at 4:35...and off to the gym I went. You get used to it. What I like is that it is over for the day! Your metabolism will respond better...and your energy through the day will soar. When I did that dance class last week, from 5:30-6:30, I had trouble falling to sleep. When I exercise in the am I sleep so good. TRACY...I AM PROUD OF YOU ALSO!

Jenn~Good luck...I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I am off to my LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!! I love my job, especially being off for the summer and getting paid. Now if we can just get through the day w/o incident. What is it w/ 8th graders? They wanna kick all the ass on the last day. Give me strength!

After school, we are out at 11:30 we all go to this annual party, where the booze and food are a plenty. I can't enjoy either this year...but that is ok.

Have a great day Violets~

I am so proud of all people who get up and exercise!!! I had to get up at 6:30 for a 8:00 meeting and you would have thought the world ended!!! I am jealous because I can't seem to do that. I belong to a gym, I belong to Curves, but haven't gone because of my hernia, I think next week I can go, it will be 2 months since surgery. But I only like to go at a specific time because they are not crowded and I don't want anybody to see me excercise. Maybe when I have lost more weight I will feel more secure working out.

Jane,

Your money is just as good as anyone else's. You should not feel embarrassed to work out...you should feel proud. I used to go to Curves, and in Palm Springs too. All the women were super rich, big fake boobs, dripping in gold and diamonds. I walked my fat ass in and held my head high. I am just as good as any of those biotches...and so are you. I feel so skinny and sexy walking out of the gym...

You go and do your thing girl, when your ready!!!

I am so proud of all of you that are going out and busting your Buns at gyms (or where ever)...that is totally awesome. I don't know what my problem is to be quite honest...well, yes I do, extreme laziness. I guess I have been waiting for the exercise fairy to come drag my ass outta bed, but we all know that is not gonna happen. :)

I will just have to depend on good old fashioned will power and make myself take the plung. Sometimes I think my will power is just all being used up just on the "not eating junk" part....dear Lord, here come the excuses again....sorry

Good afternoon all you Shrink'n Violets!!

I was up at a nice, normal time today. One of the perks of being retired. I fixed my scrambed egg beater and turkey sausage and then went to church for a flute rehearsal. An hour after that was done I went out to lunch with a bunch of pastor's spouses. We call ourselves PMS.. Pastor's Main Squeeze and we're a pretty rowdy bunch, believe it or not!! Had a great time and ate the inside of half a turkey bacon wrap. Hardly anything to eat at all, but my mantra is..... IT AIN'T ABOUT THE FOOD!!! I'm home and ready to head out to get some folding chairs on sale and then I'll hit the swimming pool for my Water aerobics and then just some floatin' time.

I had a lo carb chocolate covered ice cream bar. It's my one treat for the week. Only 170 calories and 9 carbs. And darn yummy. My CL is in the freezer and I can have it in about 15 minutes when it's nice and icy.

Everyone have a great afternoon. Pam.. LOVE those last days of school!! I feel your joy and relief!!!

Kudos to all of you who are getting the exercise bug. I have it too and I'm lovin it!!

My workout lately is packing the house! And our A/C sucks in the heat (I hate rental houses), it's 80 degrees + even in the middle of the night.. so packing my house, cleaning, moving boxes around and sweating like crazy.

Today we went to subway, I got a ham & cheese wrap with lots of veggies (I don't like subway, but when I have to go I usually got a 12 inch with just meats and cheeses).

I was only able to eat half of it!! Woot. I love the restriction I have during the day, just have to figure out how to make it last till I fall asleep at night :)

I also bought some benefiber last night. My doctor never said to take Fiber, but heard other people on the boards talk about it so I looked it up, it sounds like it helps lose weight! So doesn't hurt to try.. got the chewable sugar-free strawberry tablets, and also the invisible powder stuff.. tablets were way too big and hard for me to chew without going eww.. but the powder was great in my water.. no taste and no texture.

I have been on a banana kick lately. Craving bananas all the time!!

They don't sell any ripe ones at the store, so I had bought a bundle, and had to wait 3 days staring at them going 'ripen already!!!'..ate them all.. then Sunday I was wanting one so bad, so asked fiance to go get me 'lots of naners'.. so he brought home 3 big bundles of bananas.. been waiting for them to ripen now.. I have one at work it's mostly ripened, so I've been nibbling... mmm naners. I dunno if I'm lacking potassium or what, never craved a fruit like this. And can you believe im having a hard time swallowing a banana? It's amazing.

I'm loving my band, I feel like I'm not losing a lot of weight, but since I found a bag of clothes while packing that I had outgrown, and now am able to wear 5/7 pants, I'm in a good mood with this. I think I am averaging 1lb a week.. nothing to jump up and down about, but still a continuous loss.. and I'll take it! :)

and by 5/7 pants.. I mean 5 pairs of pants out of 7.. not size 5/7... that wouldn't happen even if I was anorexic skinny :)

Oh boy, what a headache life is for me right now!! AEIIEIEIEIEI!!!

The mortgage company calls us once a week and comes up with 10 more things they need us to get.. Today was no exception! I've had to call the IRS for forms 4 times in the past month, and they are not a fun place to call.. lot of run around and making me verify I have a fax machine? What, I want them to fax it to a fake one for shits n giggles?!

So today I found out I needed about 10 more things, including school transcripts, which god knows how long that takes to get.. you can't request it by fax or phone, has to be a written request, all the way to New Mexico and have them send it back whenever that happens.. meanwhile our loan is suppose to be ready by June 22! I keep asking the girl 'Are you sure we're going to get it all done by June 22?' and her response today is 'oh that's 2 weeks, we have plenty of time'... but the mortgage company hasn't even sent it to the state for the review (we're getting a first time home owner's bond thing).

I am biting my lip like crazy today.. stress stress!! Everything she asks for requires a lot of work and digging and begging people to light a fire under their butt.

Now I'm having a problem with one of my good clients, and I can't give them what they want to make them happy, so I'm just having to do damage control.. very unfortunate, I hate things like this that put a wedge in the business relationship. Waaah.

Days like this, I love that I'm a smoker and have a vice to fall on. I've been chain smoking between business calls, mortgage company calls, trying to get fiance to handle his share of the mortgage stuff which he isn't understanding because they call me and I have to relay the message.

Also found out today, since I had to dig up some transcripts, I am only shy of about 15 credits in getting another degree.. So, I wrote the college an e-mail..other side of the country, asking if they have any long distance courses I can take completely not in person since I'm in Alabama, to see if I can get the last 15 credits.. for fun. May as well not waste it, the local university won't take out of state transfers for the most part.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
