Congrats Michelle!!!! Now you know that THIS IS MEANT TO BE!!! What a wonderful feeling!!!

I just got back from my 2nd post op diet and I've lost 19.6 POUNDS!!!

I am shocked...so much so I started to cry. I've never lost, just gained gained gained since my undergraduate days.

I am so proud of myself, and really owe so much to my friends and support system at LBT!!!! Getting ready to pick out my next charm!!!:clap2:

I don't plan on using them again :) Anyone know of another place that is more reliable?

My dr.'s off ice gave me 4:

www.vistavitamins.com

www.bbvitamins.com

www.vitalady.com

www.bariatricadvantage.com

I get mine from www.dpsnutrition.com on the left side go down the IDS then look for IDS New Whey liquid Protein! I love the Blue Raspberry (only 25 g. Protein and both the Orange and Grape 42 g protein. I have usually add them to a bottle of propel Water but have just drank them by themselves.

Tomorrow is the DAY!!!! I am so very excited! I will be officially a Bandster!

:gluck: tomorrow! I'll keep you in my prayers. After surgery rest a lot, and whenever you feel like, walk, walk, walk. Walk a lot, rest a lot, that would do the trick.:)

Walk in circles around the house its good enough for those first days. Sorry about the snow storm in spring:phanvan I'm doing just fine, getting better and stronger every day. I tool 1 1/2 week from work, I'm a pre-k teacher and I want to make sure that am ready to go back to the classroom. I'm returning to work on Monday:phanvan . The bad pain is gone, and now it my belly feels like when you sore like from exercise. When I go out for a while, like to the mall, I get very tired and need a nap.:notagree You are taking less than a week off work, hopefully you have a desk job, and still you can get very tired and the port area hurts a lot when you are sitting down for a while in front o a computer(use pillows). If you can, I would recommend you to take more days, at least a week. Now, once again good luck tomorrow, and post when you feel better to let us know how you are doing. Let me know if you have any questions, that I can help you with.:)

8 days postop and Ruh Roh. Bandster hell is coming.... I'm getting hungry!!! BUT...I eat a cup of full fluids or mushies and and I'm ok for 2-3 hours....and still only getting in <900 calories, but just spending more time hungry than I was. It's all good. I scheduled my appt for my 1st fill for May 4th. My soreness is almost all gone but still get tired easily. Grateful the wknd is coming. Incisions are looking good. Signed up with a gym today and I'm really excited about that. Hit the treadmill tomorrow. Tried scrambled eggs tonight and they went down fine. Man, did they taste good!!

I can SERIOUSLY see how my relationship with food will be changing. Now, when I'm hungry, I get kind of sad that I can't go out and eat a plate full of enchiladas or a nice sandwich or a steak or even my favorite salad. But it is precisely at that moment I am grateful for my new tool. I can't overeat even if I wanted to. So I shrug my shoulders, go have a 1/2 of cottage cheese and Voila! My hunger is cured ....and so is my sadness (that I can't have enchiladas). I sometimes miss that FULL feeling I used to get....but not really. Not after I've cured the hunger with even a small amount of food. I'm over it just like that. No regrets, no more mourning. This is certainly going to be an interesting journey.

I seriously can't keep up with who's doing what anymore....we've got such an active board!

Jenn- Did you say you're having surgery on Monday and returning to school 2 days later? That seriously may not be feasible....maybe I read that wrong.

Sara - you sound like you're doing alright!

TerriDoodle - I am in the same boat. Today I woke up and have been pretty hungry every few hours. Up until now I have had no hunger. I guess I will call and get my fill scheduled asap too! I have been doing fine with mushies, fish, and even chicken. I am still losing but I will be glad when I feel full longer.

I am having the same urges as I drive past my favorite places to eat, or see those darn food commercials on TV that trigger an urge for the bad stuff. lol!

I seem to have pretty good energy. I've been walking with my daughter the last few nights and I feel fine.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
