Gave away clothes today!

Recommended Posts

I'm actually looking forward to having to donate my clothes so that I can clean out my closets. Granted I've got a few pieces that I will not want to get rid of but I know when the time comes I will have to because I won't be able to fit them anymore. I think that will help me tremendously when it comes to time to make the final cut. Good Luck!

I bought a few new pieces....not many. I am still losing....I want to lose 125 more pounds. I am only a little over 5 months out. I want to be at my goal by Oct 6th this year (my birthday). I am at a stupid stall right now....little mad cause I wanna move on down!

Am about five and a half months post op. Lost 95 but still need 100 more. I buy at Goodwill or clearance stuff. The new coats I bought at the beginning of winter are loose now & look stupid on me but I won't give them away now.

So I have had a bag of clothes that were too big for me....but I held on to them about 3 weeks after I bagged them up. I kept thinking "I paid a lot of money for those clothes' date=' I dont want to just dump them off at Goodwill". So I found a lady that needed them....and today she came and picked them up. It was with mixed emotions that I handed her that bag! It wasnt just that i was giving away clothes that I paid a lot for, but clothes that I wore because nothing else fit me! I was attached to them, felt like I needed them! So handing her that bag meant no going back! Now I have some smaller size clothes that actually fit me (for now) and I love the compliments! But letting go of those "big" clothes closed that chapter for me.... a little scary for me! But I feel so much better now that they are gone![/quote']

That's so awesome! Congratulations. I too went through clothes today. A little too early but noticed some just don't fit. I'm almost three weeks post-op and down to 268. Goal is 225 so I'm super excited for the loss so far. About 35 lbs since pre-op liquid Jan 7.

Wow you sound like me a few months ago. My surgery was 7 Nov and my weight was 291. Now 224. Just did a second purge last weekend of clothes. I laugh at some stuff I used to wear. HUGE.

That's so awesome!!!!!! I'm in a bit of a plateau for whatever reason. 265 right now. I had a blood clot post-op that has me out of work and a bit more sedentary than I prefer. It's in the abdomen area so they can't operate and it's quite painful when I eat/drink certain things. On soft foods now maybe that's why I'm plateauing. Will just need to keep an eye on it. Goal is 2-3 lb loss per week, but that's assuming I workout. Not doing that now as I said, which is a bummer. Hope to slowly start next week per the doc. Anywho... I'm rambling (probably the pain meds - haha). Dude, you are an inspiration :) :)

Went through my closet again....this time it was MUCH easier to let go of those clothes lurking around that I wanted to keep "just in case"...... There will be NO just in case this time!! I am doing this weight loss and kickin butt!! No more fall back fat clothes!!

I tossed that bag of clothes right in the Goodwill bin and kept going! Feels so wonderful to be losing this weight for good!!

Good to hear others stories about letting go too!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
