HELP!!! I have gained weight since surgery..they say cause the fluids and aunt flow..but is that true a paradoxal (sp) affect with a lot of meds..am I having one with this surgery..

I started my period 2 days after surgery (it was early) . I weighed myself the next morning and I was up 8 lbs from the morning of surgery. It took my the first week to get back to my preop weight. Definitely a combo of all the IVF they gave me and my period!

It's just awful it's the worse period I've had too..it's like a blood bath my goodness.. I usually only go 2.5 days and pretty light this is not normal I hope it doesn't last long

I did not gain weight after surgery. I am down 7 pounds from my day of surgery weigh in. Luckily I didn't get attacked by Aunt Flow. Mirena has all but killed my period

My wife (patsy1965) is going home. The doctors said she is good to go.

I hope she is doing well. Tell her we are all pulling for her.

You're going to pureed foods already? My diet guidelines are Clear liquids for 3 days then full liquids for 2 weeks (cream Soups, Tomato juice, pudding etc) -then- pureed- foods, (Mashed tatoes, baby food consistancy ANYTHING, oatmeal, grits, etc...)

I had surgery on Monday & moved to puréed today as well. I did 2 weeks if full liquid before surgery & was on clears from Tuesday to Thursday.

every doctor is different I suppose. As far as pureed food goes, check out the baby section. Stage 1 and 2 are good consistancy for that phase of the diet. That'll give you variety. Also oatmeal with Protein powder, cream of wheat, tuna pureed, pureed Beans with avocado, etc.

Thank you for the tips! Today I had some cream of wheat with powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored Protein Powder. I also had a Protein shake. In a little while I'm going to try some mashed potatoes with Protein Powder.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
