Woke up this morning to my Zen gone! Holy cow, I'm nesting and crying about possibly leaving my babies mother-less. Sitting at the bus stop with my oldest who is only 6, and I'm staring at her holding back tears. Guess I should be happy hubby and I bought life insurance policies on each other years ago. That way at least he won't have to worry about the mortgage if I go. Snap me out of this guys!!!

I felt that way a couple of weeks ago! You have got to stay positive! I firmly believe a persons success all depends on your outlook!! You just have to think about all the great things that will come from this surgery.

Smack snap out of it. I'm a 33 year old mother of five 19 y 16y autistic 15 yrs 13 yrs mild intellectual delays. And 11 yrs old. I just had surgery nov 6 this year so 6 days pre op. I went through the same thing. I worried about what if I died reality is your not. You know the reasons why you made this choice because you want to live for yourself kids and hubby. Know the death rates are minimal you will be fine if I can do it so can you. Everyone almost who is here had either had or going to have or is in the process . I was worried that I would die and what would happen to my disabled kids as no one can plan life for them like me or can deal with there crazy way my other kids hubby could manage. So I have to be here so they can live lol . Remember the prize better health feeling better about yourself and seeing your kids graduate marry grand babies all the good stuff if you chose to do nothing then those things would be cut -'and may not be possible you want your life back. We are here to continue to cheer you on and support you in times like this or others . You can do this your almost there and then we will be hearing you say sh)t I should have done this years ago. Stay positive wipe your tears and know your not alone . Whoop whoop you can do this

Hey Lady, what crystal said, You are doing this for your babies. You will do great. But I think it is normal to have all the feelings you are having. Just don't dwell in one thought place for any length of time. Start dwelling in the happy thoughts and how much fun you are going to have with those sweet babies when you have your health back.

I completely agree with the other ladies. Should have done this long ago! My biggest issue so far is I can't eat food. Its tough to see it all the time and then eat broth! But when you start seeing weight melt away you'll be happy and you'll be happy for your decision.

I really appreciate the help!

I have a wonderful husband and have to say, am super happy today is Veterans Day, allowing him to be home from work and help me to clean and prepare! I think right now my rational brain is fighting my emotional irrational brain. LOL I think why I have suddenly become scared is thinking about how far from home I will be. My surgeon's office is 2 1/2 hours away, so my husband will have to essentially leave me down there, to return to our children. I know I will wear my big girl panties, but just getting them on this fat behind is the key. LOL

Lady, when I had my lap band seven years ago, my surgery was over 2 hours away too. Hubby litteally made sure I lived through the surgery and went back home and then picked me up two days later. I was all alone. But I did fine. And it meant more to me for him to be home with the kids then to sit by my bedside so it worked out. But I sure do understand your fears and apprehension.

It makes sense for him to leave me, and return to the kids. I mean, how bored would he be just sitting there watching me sleep, then walk the halls? So it's the right thing to do, I will have my phone, which I never go anywhere without! LOL and my bff's and I can text and hubby can call.

Thanks! I am calming down, allowing rational brain to take over LOL

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
