I am still pre-op so I can't answer that question. But I can relate. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 19. My husband and I have wanted to have children for so long but with my PCOS and complete lack of ovulating, that was making it impossible. I have really struggled with infertility and had a lot of emotional nights crying about it because I want children so bad. I am hoping and praying that after surgery and losing the weight, that I can experience parenthood for myself someday. But anyway, good luck to you! And a huge congratulations to you on your success thus far!!

I don't have a date yet. BUT it should hopefully be the end of October. I am just waiting for my PCP to submit my recommendation letter then we are submitting everything to insurance. *Fingers Crossed!* People say that they get fertile after surgery, and I am praying that that's the case for both of us! That's another bonus of this awesome site-that there is someone to relate to. I don't know anyone in my personal life who struggles with infertility and obesity. I am like you, I am really hoping that I am able to conceive (at all!) but especially naturally without having to pour the money into infertility treatments. But at this point I will take it, no matter how I can get it. I know I was destined to be a mother. I just have to make sure my body knows that too.

I dont have anyone in my family or in my friends I can relate to either. Listen I never do this, feel free to text me anytime!! I also would like to have someone to relate to. I feel like no one understands the depression and everything that goes along with the pcos and wanting a baby.

Will do! I have struggled with the depression aspect it, too, with being overweight and wanting to be a mother so bad, while everyone around me is having children (even the ones that probably shouldn't be) and all they can say is "when are you going to have kids"? Well, dearies, it's not a matter of when, but "if". And it's frustrating.

It is extremely frustrating, my brother has 4 kids and sucks as a father my sister has one and she never wanted children and Im the oldest and have none. I really believe with eveything in me, I will have a baby!!

I am 28 and have suffered with PCOS since I was 19, it went undiagnosed until I was 23. That is how I put in all my weight due to insulin resistance. Anyway my husband and I have tried since I was 19 to get pregnant to no avail. I sought out this surgery because it would help me lose weight which could help increase our odds of getting pregnant. My Bariatric surgeon is confident that this surgery will correct the metabolic issues that prevent me getting pregnant. With all of that said, I am a little over 2 weeks post op and I have had my first regular period in years without my medication ( I was taking metformin) or birth control. So I am holding out hope this will be our answer.

How far out from surgery are you? Yes I have heard that too. My husband is as invested in this surgery as I am because we both know that the end goal will be children, nit for me to be skinny or "hot"....not that those aren't perks but our main focus is babies ;)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
