October Surgery Dates

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! Sorry for my delay in posting. My surgery went well good on the 9th. No complications at all. I don't remember being wheeled into or out of surgery. I was really worried about post op pain & I had none. I stayed 3 nights in the hospital which consisted of walking & resting. I am able to tolerate liquids as if I didn't have surgery. I have to be careful not to guzzle fluids. I thought I would have trouble sipping but that's no issue. I'm gettining in popsicles' date=' pudding, Jello, Carnation Instant Breakfast, G2 gatorade & creamed Soups. Is there something that I'm missing? I feel like I'm not getting enough of my fluids/protein in. (?) I wasn't given any instructions from discharge at the hospital. I know someone will come along & help me out here. Thank you for your insight!!

Congrats to those how had surgery with me!![/quote']

My surgery was on the 9th as well! My nutritionist/surgeon said to get in 64 oz of sugar free liquids a day and drink 1 oz Protein Shake every 15 min.

surgiversary 10/09/12~235 lbs

My last day of my liquid diet. Even managed to go out and watch a football game at bar yesterday. Took my mug of warm broth' date=' drank Water and a container of muscle milk light. I made it thru the wings and celery and chicken wrap and frys around me but almost lost it for the pretzel.

Heading to the office to wrap up some paperwork, finish up cleaning and packing then Ill be ready to go to the hospital at 530 tomorrow AM.

Its taken this whole year to get to now and I AM READY.

Is there any one else out there with surgery tomorrow?

Speedy recovery to all those who are postop and here's to seeing you on the losers bench.Blessings to all those having surgery this week and thru the end of October.[/quote']

My surgery is tomorrow as well. I have to be there by 630 and surgery at 8. Praying for all my October buddies as well.

Hello every1 I had my surgery on the 8th and came home on the 10th I didnt want anything to do with food it turned my stomach to smell chix broth, but im doing much better now I had that pain on the left side that every1 has. The only thing is I have a pulling feeling on the left my surgeon says it is absolutely normal, so outside of feeling week due to lack of food and the pulling on the left im doing great. Im still taking pain meds but not much longer, today was a Great Day my surgeon ROCKS.

Well my revision surgery from band to by pass is 15th October 2012! Nearly done the first week of pre-op diet second time around seems a lot easier' date=' but wasn't nervous at all last 3 ops yet really really nervous this time which is not like me at all. Anyone one else in the same boat as me?[/quote']

We have the same date! Today is that day... I'm not nervous like that... Well yeah a little bit about the pain. I don't like pain.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
