Sex Drive Decreased After Surgery

S this normal or does this happen a lot. I try to get into it but I am not comfortable and it feels weird. My husband tells me to give it time and it will come back. I don't have a feeling or anything I just don't know anymore. I am going on week 6 since surgery.

Hello Nicki,

I do not think that is out of the norm. I was physically still in pain for the entire first month, I couldn't believe that people could have sex so soon!!! How are you doing as far as Vitamins and Protein? Do u have a new form of birth control?

No birth control my body has never done right with them. My protein yes I am getting that and my water in and walking and vitamins. I still don't think I eat enough though.

How many calories ate you eating and how much Protein. Are body goes through a lot of hormone changes I had several long periods back to back. Do u know we become extra fertile after having the surgery!

Well we got it in one afternoon but it's not a everyday thang. Lol

The first 3 months post op, I felt ackward having sex.....but now, at 10 months post op, and having lost 140 pounds, it's pretty hot! I still have lots of loose skin, but that hasn't stopped my hubby from wanting the new me!

It's coming back yo me now and plus I am in the gym twice a day going hard to tone and tighten things up. I feel good this is helping.

I've read that some people have a sex addiction after WLS. I was actually hoping that I cold count sex as part of my work out routine. I should get a partner first though, lol

Yeahhhh for ' date=' let's get in on - in my berry white voice. :)

I would like to bump this topic.

The first few months after WLS my libido was awesome. Now 6 months out it is totally gone. The mind thinks about it a lot but the body is not into it.

Anyone else having or had this problem? Any fixes out there?

I have had my blood work done twice since surgery and it has rocked, without any supplements.

I guess it depends on your body because my husband and I was able to resume sex 5 days after surgery, our sex life has always been great and it's better now because we can try new position .Give it time it will come .

Mine decreased after surgery a lot. But now I'm back to my normal self. I kept wondering how the sex could get better because our sex life is amazing.

But yeah trying new positions, having more mobility, more flexibility and more endurance makes it even better!

Ouch my thighs hurt....
