TX--"Big Country" Abilene
My surgeon is in Wichita Falls. I don't think there is one in Abilene anymore. My surgeon is Dr Kenneth Warnock!

I have access to a pool, but it is an outdoor pool, and the water isn't quite warm enough yet.

After having a long discussion with a friend who is a personal trainer (in another state), I have decided to continue walking on the treadmill but skip trying to run! I just walked 2 miles, and my knee isn't bothering me!

My WLS surgeon wants me walking. I only ran once on the treadmill for about a minute just to see if I could. Think I'll stick to walking. I can walk at 4.5 mph now, which is a big thing for me! Thanks for the insight.

Let me add, that I'm 2 yrs post op RNY, with a weight loss of 160 lbs. I'm in maintenance mode....my goal at this point is not weight loss, but better fitness. I also must point out that my kneecaps were shattered when I was a teenager, and we have only my hubby's income at this time. I simply cannot afford to go buy anything new, even off of Craigslist. Thank you for your opinion, but I do trust my doctor.

I can't ride an exercise bike. Every one I have tried is too tall for me. I'm short. Lol. My regular bike has flat tires, but we cannot seem to find the leak. My hubby also refuses to buy any other piece if exercise equipment because he believes we have enough with the treadmill and his weight bench (which I cannot use). My surgeon also thinks that walking is my best option. I feel like I'm letting myself down if I don't just push through the pain.

Back on my treadmill, which has been a struggle because of my really bad knees. But, I've been doing great. Increased my time as well as my speed, and have managed to run for a stretch. My problem? Still my knees. Now getting aches and pains in my knees. Should I wear knee braces while I exercise??- Texas?
Dr Warmock is my surgeon as well! I'm 2 years out, and had skin removal done by him just this past August! Love Dr Warnock!- Softeners
Because I had my gallbladder removed many years before my RNY, I hadn't had too much of an issue with constipation. That all changed after my RNY. My surgeon recommends that I take a stool softener every other day.- TX--"Big Country" Abilene

Just broke a molar....this tooth will most likely need to be pulled. I'm 2 1/2 years post op RNY. Anything I should tell the dentist? Or am I worrying for nothing?- Did You Know About Calcium Carbonate vs Calcium Citrate (I just wasted a lot of money)
I did. I could handle the chewable vitamins before surgery, but after was another story! But, that being said, everyone is different!- San Antonio, Texas
I know! When I had a nasty ulcer last year, and the hospitals in Abilene refused to help me (seems they thought I was faking my pain), we made the 2 1/2 hour drive to his office, and his staff was wonderful! On the way to the hospital in Wichita Falls, we got into a car accident, and one of his staff drove me to the hospital and then came back for my husband! THAT is how a doctor & staff should care for their patients!- San Antonio, Texas
Isn't Dr Warnock awesome?- Wanna see what was removed?
Lol not yet. Trying to get my hubby to take some.- Wanna see what was removed?

I do not know as it was covered by my insurance (Tricare South) 100%!- Wanna see what was removed?
