  1. I passed my one year mark on the 10th of November with a total weight loss of 148 pounds! I only have 7 pounds to my goal weight! Woot! my superpower is......
  2. I bought a blank tag and had it engraved because I also have drug allergies. I make my own bracelets, too, because I like pretty things! Most people don't even realize that it's a medic alert bracelet! my superpower is......
  3. I had an ulcer after my RNY. I had acute stomach pain that pain meds couldn't touch. One doctor told me I was obstipated (severe constipation resulting in a compacted colon), one told me I had a stomach flu, and another told me they had no idea.....it wasn't diagnosed until my surgeon who did my RNY scoped me because he suspected an ulcer (i haven't had my gallbladder in 12 years, so we knew it wasn't that)! my superpower is......
  4. Not until June. My insurance wants me to be able to maintain my goal weight for a minimum of 6 months before they cover the tummy tuck. my superpower is......
  5. Yes. Apparently, I became some kind of threat after surgery! my superpower is......
  6. For me, because Iron constipates me terribly, my doctor has me take iron every other day. It is supposed to be once a day, but if I do that, I'll be lucky to poop once every two to three days! my superpower is......
  7. Welcome to our family! This place is full of awesome people! my superpower is......
  8. Egg drop soup is the ONLY thing my pouch can handle! my superpower is......
  9. I lost a friend. At least she used to be....when I was no longer her fat friend that made her feel thin, she began to show her true colors....I decided that I didn't need people in my life who couldn't support me on the basis that I was their token fat friend! My true friends have always supported me through "thick" & "thin"!! my superpower is......
  10. My surgeon just cleared me to eat a taco from time to time! But that's all I can eat....one taco! Don't beat yourself up over one taco! my superpower is......
  11. Dr Warnock is my surgeon! He's fabulous! my superpower is......
  12. I chose the bypass over the sleeve or band because I needed my body to hold my brain accountable! I was 305 pounds at 5'2" and wore a size 28. Yes, I've dumped, but it helps to remind me that I shouldn't eat this or that! my superpower is......
  13. I just started mine last night, and today's cramps & clots have been the worst I've ever experienced! my superpower is......
  14. Every person is different. Anyone, whether they have the RNY bypass, sleeve, or lap band can get an ulcer or not. My surgeon believes my ulcer was stress related because of the amount of stress my oldest child has been putting me through since February. my superpower is......
  15. They are covering mine. Has to do with the excess skin and how it affects my quality of life. Since I still have a lit of excess skin, I have to check it constantly for rashes, wash it very carefully, make extra sure it's dry, lift it to clean, etc...Thus making my quality of life harder. my superpower is......
  16. Some....my surgeon will be removing the excess skin around my middle next June. Tricare only covers that, so I am working on my arms! my superpower is......
  17. I started out by getting help from the HAWC on Lakenheath, which documented everything into my med files! I kept a food journal religiously, and worked out like a demon....when I got to Dyess, my PCM saw what I had already done, and pushed a referral through for my surgeon and surgery! My surgeon is near Shepard, which is a good 2 1/2 hour drive from Dyess, so he actually didn't make me do but the bare minimum requirements.....I have to say, getting it approved through Tricare was fairly easy.....afterwards has been a challenge! my superpower is......
  18. Yep. At Dyess in TX! Had my surgery 11/10/11 my superpower is......
  19. In fact, I worked at the Arts & Crafts Center on Lakenheath, and there's still a pic (poster sized) of me there way before my surgery! my superpower is......
  20. Where in England? My hubby is Air Force, and we lived at RAF Mildenhall for 4 years! my superpower is......
  21. I actually don't worry about calories so much as I get 60-90 grams of Protein daily and my workout in every day! I also make sure I have had at least 32 oz of Water each day, and get about 6-8 hours of sleep each night! I have found that if I don't follow these rules, my weight loss just totally stalls, and I feel pretty crappy! my superpower is......
