My doctor said its gas pain..and i have lots of crap im coughing up from my lungs...which he said is from my lungs being partially deflated during surgery stuff kinda settles. He says normal..i say it feels like a elephant is sitting on my chest..it hurts to breath and hurts to do anything really. I also had a hiadal hernia repaired which i am thinking could be the source of some of.my pain.

For those of you post op...how are you doing? liquid diets not too bad except i am so thirsty and its so hard for me to get that thirsty feel satisfied at 1ounce every 15 min. Lol im not really hungry..and the suger free popcicles have become.my very good friend.

I am on full liquids for two weeks. The only thing that I don't really like is sugar free Popsicles. After liquids I move to soft foods until 3 months out. Like others I have been having pain in my chest. Depending on when I get it I know it is either gas or I drank too fast. The gas x strips have been a lifesaver for me. Who knew gas pains could be so brutual?

Wow! This month is flying so fast! Good luck to everybody. It's so nice to see the members cone back to us on the "other side." As in after the surgery. It still just doesn't seem real. Does anyone else feel this way before. I'm starting to wonder how much changes? Weight loss? Sure. Energy? I hope so. But emotional? Hmmmm? Just wondering.

It still hasn't fully clicked in my brain. I mean I know my surgery is coming, but it just seems like a dream. The bus hasn't hit me full force. Subconciously i know I'm somewhat afraid but all my inhibitions have left my brain. I pray I don't have an emotional crash after surgery or even a panic attack the day of. Anyone else fell somewhat similar?

Ok I kinda freaked out right now! Lol I was reading all my paperwork to make sure everything was set for Monday. Well I noticed it said your surgeon will order a bowel prep the day before surgery!!! I never got one!! I called his office and they said it was ok to still go in. Does everyone have to do a bowel prep?? Now I'm wondering should I do an OTC kind?? So confused right now :(

So I spent today with the family. We went to the zoo. I'm not sure if that was a good idea I'm so exhausted. After being on the clear liquid diet with protien shakes for a week it was a challenge to have endurance. So I took so Isopure with me so I could get my protien in and it made me want to vomit. So I didn't drink it. For the past two days its been hard to drink any protien it makes me wanna be sick. I don't know why. I do the best with carnation instant Breakfast sugar free or high protien boost. The stuff I bought at GNC (amp something or other whey protien and isopure) and the syntrex nectar make me sick feeling :( i hope after surgery this is not a problem. At the beginning of the week I was all into then and thought they were great now I can't stomach them.

I have to do a bowel prep also but it's all otc stuff. My surgeon ordered it but I'm the one that does it.

Here are my orders:

day before surgery-

*NO red, purple or orange-

*clear liquids only-

*12pm-drink 10oz bottle of Mag citrate

*3pm-4 Dulcolax tablets with 8oz Water

*6pm- mix 32oz Gatorade with a bottle of Mirilax(drink within 2hrs)

*Follow with another 32oz Gatorade(no Mirilax) drink within 2hrs

*If you are not having yellow watery bowl movements after the Mirilax, drink another 10oz bottle of mag citrate.

*Nothing after midnight

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
