Back In The Hospital Again

Recommended Posts

Hey guys and gals. So I'm back in the hospital. I hadn't eaten anything for aout 9 days bc I always feel so nauseated. I was really feeling downright terrible so I went to the emergency room on Thursday Morning. I've been here since. My arms are all swollen and bruised bc they had to poke me 7 times before they could get the iv started. They said my veins were deflated due to dehydration. I still feel very nauseated. They did a really aggressive endoscopy yesterday. I hope the stricture heals and my stomach remains open. There's a lot of scar tissue. This really isn't what I signed up for and yea they do mention the risks before hand but no one told me it would be this bad. I really wish I never had this surgery. So in the meantime I'm just laying here miserable....trying to get better. I'm including a pic of my arm so you can see how its all bruised from the numerous iv pokees

Feel better soon & in the long run I'm sure this will be one of the best decision you made. Just a bumpy road right now.

I don't feel better at all. I haven't eaten in 2 weeks and even then it was just 2 spoons of yogurt. I never feel good or normal. Its hurting my family bc they feel bad that they can't do anything to help me..EXTREME BUYERS REMORSE! If one more person says hang in there I'm gonna scream. Unless they're the ones going through it they have no idea how truly horrible this is. I'm an incest survivor as well as a domestic abuse survivor and this by far is the worse I've ever felt in my life. Id give anything for a "do-over"

I'm sorry I'm just seeing your message. I was in the hospital from the 10th-18th.....they said the stricture was cleared but the ulcer wasn't. I think I need to be dialated again bc I'm vomiting again. I couldn't eat/drink anything in the hospital. My veins were too deflated for IV's so I had a triple picc line put directly in my chest. I was fed TPN through a nutrition bag like they give people that are in comas and can't feed themselves. It was pretty bad. I am once again not eat but still trying to drink enough to stay hydrated. Its a holiday weekend so I will call the surgery team on Tuesday to see if they want me to re-admit myself into the hospital........again :'(

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
