I am new to know this. This is my first post but I been reading what everyone else wrote and am getting motivated again. My husband and I both had surgery 1 week apart in july. We we're going great losing approx 4 pounds or so a week but now he is stuck at 54 and I am stuck at 41 for over a week now. Any suggestions?

I want to cry! I am so unhappy the scale never moves and I am only just shy if 2 mths. Here is my weight

8-3 liquid diet 239

8-13 surgery day 230

9-21 today 212

It sounds good to say 27 lbs lost but....i guess i expected more. Is my expections wrong?

Is this normal? Did anyone do the same?

The less u weigh the slower it takes to loose the weight. Hang in there it will happen.

In a stall myself, it really is true the less you weigh the slower it goes. Still hovering around onederland but not entering in. Just watched a program about a study by the NIH (National Institute of Health). They followed a number of people who lost and maintained a significant weight loss. What they discovered is very interesting. If you diet down to a lower weight let's say 150 lbs, normally on all the charts it will take a certain amount of calories to maintain that weight. That is true for anyone who has been at that weight but has never been overweight, if you diet to that weight you will have to eat 20% less calories to maintain the weight forever. So two women at 150 one can eat 2000 calories to stay at the weight if she has never been overweight but if she dieted to that weight she can only eat 1600 calories to maintain it forever. Doesn't that expain why weight can really creep up when we think we are not eating very much! They have not yet figured out why. I discussed with my nutritionist and she said she had just received some training that backed this up and that all nutritionists do not know this. Has really helped me to be much mre vigilant with my eating. Even though I am no where near my goal yet I am keeping this in my mind for future so I will not be disappointed and frustrated. Life isn't always fair is it?

6 month milestone was yesterday. I started at 285 lbs. I now weigh 204 lbs. My personal goal was to be at 200 lbs at this mark. Its been slow to come off for me but I am grateful. Also my monthly was this week so I don't know if that kept me from my goal but I cried myself to sleep last night because I have worked soooo very hard at this. I exercise feverishly yet reading these posts everyone else results are so much greater than mine. (So it seems). When I look in the mirror I still see myself 81 lbs ago. The stressful state of mind when the scale doesn't move for a week is overwhelming. I think its time to change up my workout routine. I really wish that I could afford a gym membership. I tried a free week at curves and really liked it. I'm gonna try a free week at fitness 19 next week...maybe that will get the scale moving again

Are you able to do some extended walking? Maybe in the evenings or early morning? That won't cost anything and walking fast and long can really burn those calories. Maybe at a mall?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
