Soft diet recipe suggestions

Recommended Posts

tuna fish? Cottage cheese? Crabcakes? Any soft flaky fish? Yogurt? Babybell cheese? Laughing Cow cheese?

I agree, not a wide range of options, but there are things out there. Check out http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ for lots of recipes, or just do a search here for "soft foods" - there are people who cook (not me!) who have good recipes. :)

Good luck and welcome!

Thanks is crazy how my taste buds have changed. And then when I do eat is not a lot so I'm not getting all of my Protein so I feel tired sometimes.

I know, I really lost my taste for sweet shakes for the first couple of months after surgery. Sadly, that sweet tooth seems to be returning!

But there are lots of different Protein shake options out there and most of the online vendors will let you order sample packs to try different varieties/flavors to see what works for you now. Since you can't eat enough to get in all the Protein you need, you definitely need to supplement with shakes.< /p>

Make sure you are not consuming artificial sweeteners like Splenda. They make you crave sugar and starch. Using will make you gain weight.

Unless you have proof that artificial sweeteners make you gain weight what you've said is just your opinion. I've used artificial sweeteners of many types since surgery, does the weight loss in my ticker below look like I've gained any weight?

I just started on soft foods today and was also looking for something a little different. I found a recipe in Cooking Light that turned out to be delicious, very soft, able to mush it with a fork. I dont have the direct link to the site but you can Google it and it comes right up. It is called 'Diner meat Loaf Muffins' from Cooking Light. The nutrition facts are good and the serving size is 2 muffins. Of course I could only eat 1 and made each of my muffins between 2 and 3 ounces. I hope you enjoy this recipe, let me know what you think! :D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
