Thanks, rensterness85, but a very long time, for #2 dvt may be forever for surgeries, except in emergency. Some other good news, lost another 10 pounds. So, onward and upward!

Well from someone, speaking of myself who has had dvt and a pulmonary embolism, and a stroke, and had the sleeve following these, I would recommend looking into it a bit more instead of just going with the can't have surgery ever or unless it's for an emergency phase. My programs rules are one year. Wish you the best of luck.

The NUT component is the toughest part of the St. Peter's program. Dr. Lemanski is not easy to please. He had me second guessing myself like crazy. It was nearly impossible for me to lose weight pre-op, even with the help of his nutritionist Laurie, due to the huge does of insulin I took each night. Laurie put me on a 1200 calorie lower carb, higher Protein diet with almost no results. Sometimes he recommends Medifast, also.

He is special that's for sure. I was told only clear liq for 24 hours before surg date. I am scheduled for one week from tomorrow. Reality is setting in.

Another Patient of Dr Trivedi here.

Question......

When I first met with Dr Trivedi we decided on a loss of 15 lbs. I cleared with Dr Lamanski, he is something else, back in Septmeber with a 20lbs loss. Of course since then I have gained back.

I met with Dr Trivedi for my physical on Janary 13th with a surgery date of February 11th. Do you think if I'm not back down to the 15 lbs he will cancel? I am 8 lbs over but plan on only being like 3 or 4 over by that date.

Since the first of the year I have been back on my shakes to get the weight off but that might not be totally possible in 13 days.

I had Dr.Singh at Albany Medical Center and his practice is very strict with their guidelines. My goal before surgery was to lose about ten pounds. I lost 20, and was almost shitting myself the day before I was to get my date because I GAINED four pounds, which was by my own fault. They were fine with it. They said it happens and it would be different if I lost 20 and then gained it right back. A couple/few pounds here and there happen and are understandable. Hope this helped :-) keep us updated!

UPDATE :-)

Well as the proud person that brought us local folks together I wanted to give an update on my success with the sleeve. I was sleeved just about three months ago, sleeved October 7th, 2013. My weights loss is over 80 pounds. I am very excited, happy, feel amazing, more confident, out going, and for once I feel like a 'sexy man' lol. The first couple pics are day of surgery, second set are after surgery, my current photos.

For those locals here, please keep in mind the support groups. I had my surgery done at Albany Med and there is a support group every Thursday at 530pm. It's at 25 Hackett Blvd in Albany, first floor. It really is a great group and all are welcome.

First off, AWESOME results. I'm so happy for you.

Although I am St Pete's, I plan on attending this support group also as I think I could use all the support I can get.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
