I just get Campbell's canned beef broth or get French onion Soup and strain it.

I am day 9, post op. broth got boring quick. I just bought Lipton cup of Soup. Strain any noodles, chunks.

Also, my dietitian says healthy request Tomato Soup is good. Haven't tried it yet.

What about yogurt? It helps break up the monotony. I like oikos greek.

Protein powder wears on me, premier Protein Drink from costco, are what I drink. Still having a hard time getting meals in, I have to have 60g of Protein a day.20- 30g is premier Protein shake a day.

I am having a hard time with getting 60Oz Water in.

Starting weight 256

Op date weight 244

As of 3 days ago 234.

Only weighing once a week, to avoid getting discouraged.

I'm not allowed Soup until next week. I can't wait for Tomato soup! I wonder if Swanson chicken broth is okay? The broth goes down better than anything else for me. The hospital had awesome broth. I always loved soups/chili so I guess that part of me is still the same.

I was sleeved on sept 16th. I will say I feel truly blessed with how everything has turned out for me compared to others. I for the most part feel completely back to normal. Only thing that sucks post op is watching my family eat and having to stick to this liquid diet!!! Its all in my mind though because I don't actually feel hungry. And Protein Shakes make me wanna barf now so I'm trying the Isopure flavored drinks and they aren't all that great either. Overall I'm super excited and ready for this journey and am glad I went thru with it!!! I would do it all over again!

I was sleeved on 18 September. Fine post op. Had the day from hell on 19 September as they couldn't get a needle into my veins correctly. So didn't have enough pain relief that day and was miserable. Eventually sorted out tea time. Couldn't sleep in the hospital so was in and out of my bed continuously. I think this helped with the gas as I haven't been bothered with it. Friday went for my barium meal which was ok. No problems. Discharged back to my hotel. Better at hotel. Saturday morning nurse came, gave me my shot, checked my dressings and sais I could go home. Flew back to Scotland on Saturday at tea time and finally managed to sleep in my own bed. Had about 5 tablespoons of Soup. Mine is home made vegetable which I liquidisers and put small amounts into freezer bags and froze them I must have about 30 in my freezer. I can also take small amounts of yogurt maybe 3 teaspoonfuls. Also had a Protein Shake. This morning I got up and feel on top of the world. Have even managed to unpack my case and put a washing on. Melissa 0158 I'm like you. Ready for the journey ahead and glad I went through it. Bring it on!

Omg I can totally relate to them not finding ur veins!!!! You should see my arms. ....all black and blue. They even tried to get blood from my wrist....that kinda freaked me out a little.

I was sleeved on 9/16/13. I have had back pain too but what has helped is a small round heating pad the heat has made a whirl of difference. I also put the heating pad on my incisions on my stomach.

I have had gas but Gas-X melt strips have worked.

I had brought broth from the Japanese place ...broth only that was great. Sugar -free Popsicles have been a savior--banana flavor Walmat 1.99 and then I bought other flavors-pineapple etc.

I find it gets easier everyday---meaning pain, recovering from major surgery.. Moving and walking is crucial.

Did anyone go up in weight? I lost 20lb but I gained back a little. Not much but I didn't expect that at all. How could it be on this diet and barely eating. My surgery was sep 23

Mine did for a few days, but it comes right back down. Could still be Fluid from surgery or whatever. A lot of people on the site say do NOT weigh everyday. Anyway, try not to stress it too much. I promise it will get better and you will lose:)

I was Sleeved the 20th a revision from Lapband, so far everything is great except Iv had a few breakdowns over not being able to eat. I still have 2 more weeks before mushy :( I feel great and went back to work after 3 days off. I'm only required 40 g of Protein and for the first time ever I'm actually taking all my Vitamins. Iv lost 14 lbs so I'm 15 lbs from goal but I know the less to lose the harder so I'm in no hurry. I love hearing how others sleeved the same month are doing so please keep the stories coming !!:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
