I've been considering a lap-band for several years but when I found out about the sleeve, I knew it was exactly what I'd been looking for. Tons of research and a heart-to-heart with my husband later and I'm booked for October 30th in Mexico
Ten years ago, I quit smoking--but I needed help to do it. I'm happily a decade out from my last cigarette, something I thought was the hardest thing I'd ever done. But I'm well aware this battle I have with my body is much more complex and difficult. And, yes. I need help with it. I'm actually excited at the thought of finally succeeding.
I have plans in place--I'm fortunate to have been working on my emotional and mental issues for about the same ten years, so I know most of my remaining issues come from habit and physiology--knowing I have the tools to deal with my ups and downs are a huge bonus (my life coach is very excited for me
).
For now, I'm cutting out specific foods each week on countdown until the last two before surgery when I plan to dive into the liquid pre-op diet. I feel like I'm starting a brand new life six weeks from now.
