Faux-shi! NOM NOM NOM!

A friend of mine who also had VSG posted a picture of the riceless sushi she was brilliant enough to order, and in turn, I made it (kind of) at home myself. My mouth and my sleeve are SINGING.

I love love love spicy crab rolls and haven't had one since March. I googled the recipe and every one was similar. Copied from a website:

Here’s what you need, for 2/3 cup or so of salad (since it’s mayo-based you don’t need to eat a ton of it):

  • 1 scallion
  • 2 tablespoons mayo
  • sriracha chili sauce, to taste
  • 6 – 8 oz imitation crab sticks or flakes

That’s it! These are cheap and widely available ingredients. I use Japanese mayo, which has slightly more vinegar than American mayonnaise. Use any kind you like, though! I don’t know why imitation crab is often found in sushi, but it is, here and in Japan. Don’t be afraid of it! It’s made mostly of white fish and tastes super delicious.

If you do not like spicy, leave out the sriracha and it will still be yummy. As it is, I recommend making it without and adding a few drops at a time since we cannot drink while we eat and too hot is miserable. I added extra scallions because I love them. Next time, I will also add baby salad shrimp for more texture as well.

I pitted and quartered an avocado, sprinkled it with lemon juice and stuffed the hole with my crab salad. It was DELICIOUS. I am so stinking happy with this new meal option. It's all Protein and it's tasty. How can you go wrong?

You go girl!! Yum Yum :)

Oh that sounds so good! I need a change and this one sounds worth trying. Thanks for sharing!

It would be an awesome dip, too. I am thinking about stuffing mini red peppers with it for the crunch.

That would taste good! Mine had rice paper on it (only 8 carbs) but this would totally eliminate carbs. Besides it sounds really good and I love srirachi sauce....I love spicy food!

Funny thing when I saw the title of this thread I thought it was talking about something totally different, if you look at the title quickly it looks like it says faux-**** which I was really curious what that would be. lol.
