So I had chemo 2 years ago and I developed neuropathy. Wondering if anyone else has this post op and if so, does it hinder you from walking?

Well neuropathy ain't no fun. Period! Unless it's a varient of gastroparesis (like from DM) I am unsure why the sleeve with have any impact one way or another (and strangely, I read that the sleeve may be a good option for folks with diabetic gastroparesis!)

What neuropathy is for the curious:

http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/147963.php

Yes, I have neuropathy from chemo treatment for prostate cancer recieved in 2009. It affects my left toes and the left side of the foot and a few toes on my right foot. It is numbness more than burning. When I put on shoes it feels like the sock is bunched up or there is something in the shoe.

Amazingly, my cancer doctors acted surprised that the chemo affected me this way. I was a part of a study and didn't have to pay for the expensive toxins. It did cure my scalp psoriasis...go figure.

I was given 2 years to live. I am going on 5 now and don't plan to die soon.

The neuropathy did not affect my sleeving or the intense exercise I engaged in afterward. Most of the time I am not aware of it. Life goes on.

Thanks for the response Art. Luckily I don't have diabetes. I have heard a lot of people get cured from vsg surgery. Go figure lol. I just wanted to make sure it doesn't stop me from exercising.

Well many blessings to you. The doctors are not always correct. Thank goodness your mind and body ignored what they said. My doctors didn't give me a time frame but according to statistics I have a 30 % chance of surviving 5 years. I HAD stage 3c colon cancer. Both my brother and father passed from it. I refuse to believe I can't make it even though it's so scary at times. Any hoot I have neuropathy on both feet. Mainly tingling but my feet swell from walking or standing to long and i hate socks. I'm going this is due to my weight and not neuropathy. Thank you. And congratulations. I love stories such as yours. It gives hope.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
