Oh wow! Just had a Celebrate Multi-Vitamin and it came right back up....may be too soon. Sleeved the 29th...B12 has been fine but first time trying the multi-vitamin. Will be a while until I do that again. Any multi-vitamin faves?

I'm using optisource chewable vitamins. They're the ones my NUT recommended. They're tolerable. I get them down and they don't make me nauseated.

My surgery was the 27th of August. The surgery and hospitalization was rough but my surgeon Dr. John DePeri is excellent. He said I was just one of those one in a hundred patients that have a hard time. I'm recovering and want to be well. I have to be a bit slower with walking and lifting because of the HUGE bruises I was left with as we want no HEMATOMA so my feet are up a good bit. I started at 207.8 and I am 193.

I know I'm not getting in enough Protein and it concerns me but my doctor says he's concerned more about hydration right now because of my complications and the heat here in JAX is unbearable. Its still 100 so I need to be out of the heat for a bit long. I drive some but only bound and with a pillow because my largest bruise is right where the steering wheel is at my belly/chest.

I got to where I wanted to CHEW.....I thought if I gummed some rice chex or cheerios like our Saltine Crackers it would be fine. They weren't on the list so obviously a big no no. Luckily no vomiting as I did enough of that in the hospital. So two days post my off the track move I am good. I still take a half of pain pill at night but tonight I going to not take one.

I'm looking for suggestions on plain Protein Powder to add to food to "beef" it up. I am taking my meds in liquid or breaking them.....I have just one left to get in but we are working on that one because its about the size of a M/M and a half. Thank you for any suggestions.

Do you have berocca over there? It's effervescent multi-vitamins plus a few minerals thrown in. I know it's effervescent but it's hardly any fizz at all compared to sodas and I sip it throughout the day. Been having it since day 1. I was sleeved on 11th August and 26.5lbs down so far. (I didn't do a pre-surgery diet). I have noticed I am a bit low on Iron, which isnt in the berocca but you can get liquid iron supplements.< /p>

Speak to your surgeon. That's where your sleeve is.

I was sleeved on 8/30 and left the hospital on 9/1. Dr ordered one week on clear fluids (no protein). I kind of started purées on Sunday' date=' but it's not going well. I'm not getting my 64 oz fluids and I'm definitely not hitting 60 g Protein. I found one Protein Shake (Click Espresso) I can tolerate in terms of taste and have realized that its responsible for my urgent diarrhea -- so it's back to the drawing board. Good news is I'm down to 280 lbs today (that's 21 lbs post-surgery).

I'm going to try nectar Unflavored with SF pudding later tonight. Anyone try that?

Also, what's the word on baby food? Anyone use it?

My Magic Bullet died on me, so I'm waiting for my replacements: a B&D food chopper and an Oster Beehive blender. They should be here tomorrow. Yayy![/quote']

You went straight from Clear Liquids to puree? What happened to the full liquid stage? If you blend a meat based Soup and add milk powder it will thicken it and add protein.

Is anyone taking the Bariatric Fusion Vitamins? these give me a bit of nausea for 10-15 minutes or so.....once I finish up the bottle, I'll be looking for a replacement.....shame, they make it easy....3 chewable tablets a day and they are complete, nothing else needed (I like simple LOL)

I found some great liquid vitamins! Look at Wellesse on Amazon, they taste pretty good too. The worst one is the Iron but not really that bad and the others taste great!

I was on 64 oz Gatorade (not diet) and diluted fruit juice for 7 days. Then to purée for 3-4 weeks. I have my first check up at that point and I move to mechanical soft for 3-4 weeks. Check up. Then soft for 3-4 weeks. Check up. Then regular diet. I thought the lack of full liquids was odd, too, but I promised to follow doctor's orders.

Thanks for the tip on meat based Soups with milk powder. What is milk powder -- like protein powder, or just reg powdered milk? Do you have any meat based soup recommendations? I tried a cheeseburger soup last night. It was eh.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
