I don't like this answer! (Titanium staples). Foreign un dissolving objects?! Booooo

Just about any abdominal op will leave you with some titanium staples. They are v stable and don't set off alarms at the airport. But your X-rays will be fascinating! I've had several surgeries and have quite a few of the darned things - I look quite "arty" on the inside IMHO.

So' date=' no judgement here but just an observation and a question. I'm sure that egg was good, the first food I ate once I was allowed was a scrambled egg and it was the best damn egg I ever ate. But if you're having a hard time getting in liquid Protein, how did you get in solid food? The liquid should go down even easier no? Is it just that you're sick of Protein shakes by now? That's understandable, I think most of us were. Just go forward from here and know this is the toughest it's going to be. It gets much easier very soon. Stick it out....keep drinking that Water and those shakes. Very soon you won't have to drink them any more.[/quote']

The problem I'm having is that nothing tastes good. I'm living off aporox 30oz a day of Isopure because its the only thing I can drink that doesn't make me wanna puke my guts out. So the fact that the egg tasted AMAZING made me so excited! I'm trying my best to up my fluids but if I drink much more than I am now it makes my stomach hurt.

'do or do not" "there is no try"!!

No judgment. I've been on purée, per my doctor, since the morning after my surgery. I wouldn't worry too much.

It's possible you're now lactose intolerant. My shakes were mckinney nauseated so I took lactaid pills with them and that has really helped. May be worth trying that, or switching to soy-based for a bit.

Have you tried powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup? I recommend it a lot, as it tasted great to me, went down easy and gave me the Protein I needed.

Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
