Newbe-with complications

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I'm a newbe to this board but not to the band world. I was banded in 2002 and doing well so I thought, I have lost over 120 lbs. But on my last fill or I should say unsuccessfull fill My Dr asked to go for an endoscopy. We'll I found out on friday I have signifigant band erosion....i saw the pictures...not good.

Needless to say i could use some support and some advise on my options.

I will be seeing my Dr on Wed. for his opinion. Thanks for listening.

Paula

That is not very good news but I am sure your doctor can fix this or replace the bad. My prayers are with you. Keep us informed.

Congrats on your weight loss, you should feel so proud of yourself! I'm inspired by your progress.

Your doctor will find a solution for you, whether it be a new band or something else. Sorry I don't know what they do in your case, but regardless, you'll be OK! I can only imagine what it feels like to be in your shoes. Hang in there and remember how far you've already come!

Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers...

(((Paula)))) I am sorry to hear the news. I would suggest posting this question on the complications thread and I hope youcan find some answers there. I have no experience to help you as I am newly banded, but welcome to the board and please keep us posted on your progress. Best wishes for a speedy solution.

Sorry to hear about the erosion. Some have been able after some rest time from band removal to get another band. There are a few on here that are flying solo and keeping their weight off. Search through the threads and seek those people out. They can offer you support first hand.

Good luck to you and let us know how you are doing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
