7 Months and Need Advice!

Recommended Posts

I am so worried. In the past two weeks I have started to feel very hungry! I also feel like I am able to take in more! UGH! Is this typical? I have not really counted calories but that is no longer an option since I feel like I need to eat more. Again, is this typical? How do y'all feel at this point with regards to hunger and food intake?

Try to stick with dense Protein and cut the carbs...maybe journal and count every bite. Get thru a day..then another...I am 6 months out and eating a bit more but when I eat dense prot eye in I am full quickly and longer...never really hungry...just peckish.......no carbs!

It happens around the 6th or 7th month mark for most if us,your stomach relaxes some and your hunger comes back a bit the ghrelin hormone is being pick up a bit in production again.

This is where the work begins. Stick to the plan, eat your Protein, and remember just because you can it doesn't mean you should.

That is great advice from Laura-ven, and something that I can apply to myself. I am only 9 weeks out yet find myself being excessively hungry. I use MFP and count everything, but maybe just need to stick to the denser Proteins. Good luck tb21!

At four years out, it is easy for me to get off track. I was really having problems at the beginning of the year. For some reason, between 3-6 pm I want to snack on nothing but junk. So, I set myself up a reminder on my phone for everyday at 3:00. Then I posted a picture of myself at nearly 300 pounds and again at 150. My reminder everyday that comes up on my phone says simply, "what is your motivation, look at it, remember it, achieve it." Then, if I need to, I pull up that picture. I know it's all mental, but it really helps me.

My favorite quote from somebody on here is "Nothing tastes as good as skinny!" At a little over 3 years out, it is def a challenge but we can and do overcome the temptations. Yes, I had to get back on track and relose some regain but I've done it and found it to be very rewarding that I CAN eat more but choose not to! You can do this!!!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
