Dr. Gandsas at AAMC in Maryland?

Hi there! I have my first appointment with Dr. Gandsas at AAMC on August 1. I've been to the seminar and I am dying to have this done ASAP. My insurance won't cover anything that has to do with obesity surgery :( so I'll be paying on my own. Its worth it to me!

I was wondering if anyone here could tell me a little bit about what to expect once I see the surgeon, the types of tests he requires, and how soon they will schedule my surgery knowing I do not need insurance approval. Any advice would be very much appreciated. I'm very impatient and I was hoping I could do some things on my own before my appointment that might speed things up!

Thanks everyone!

I have not throw up because of any foods. sometimes I feel like I can eat too much at this point but I am not sure I try to stick to what Arianne tells me. I was doing a pure protein shake every morning but I am getting sick of them so I have stopped those. I find myself using the protein bars as subsitutes for my sweet tooth. I found out on my own a lot of the nausesness was actually gas and I felt better if I ate a Rolaid or gas ex.

Bookworm....what is your daily food intake consist of? Just wondering if I am off track.

Acampbell are you getting Hunger pains if you don't eat enough? How much do you have to go to reach your goal weight? I have so much to lose that hearing about these stalls make me nervous. Sorry ask so.many questions. I'm Los 46 and am wondering about the excess skin. Since the weight is coming off slower do you feel that your skin is returning back to normal?

I have 18 more to go to my original goal but when I make it there I may try to do 10 more. Overall my skin is not bad. My total goal was to lose 75lbs. No problem ask as many questions as you want, I don't mind at all.

Wow you are doing great. I have 120 lbs to lose. I'm praying that I will be as successful as you have been. You should throw some before and after pics up. I appreciate you answering my questions. How about your health. Did u have any Co morbidity going into the surgery that have improved. I currently have high blood pressure and sleep apnea.

post-181631-0-52415100-1404297964_thumb.jpgI am type 1 diabetic and I have been able to cut my insulin way down and I had sleep apnea and high blood pressure and all that is gone.

WOW acampbell you look amazing! In two weeks I start my liquid diet having surgery 7/30

Lord knows I can't wait! It's very hard for me to concentrate on anything else. I have been

Cleaning my house to keep myself busy.

Acampbell you look gteat! Seeing your pictures makes me excited to have my surgery which is August 20th.

Blessed7 let me know how the 2 weeks of liquid works out... I'm still dreading it and will take you up on contacting you for support. I guess we can't take any sort of diet pill huh. Hopefully like you said if I keep my thought on the surgery I should be able to do it.

How about crabs? I love steamed crabs. Do u think that something that I could eat again in the future. I don't really care about any food but I do love ctabs. Lol

I was wondering about hair loss. I see it seems to happen a lot and dr say it's due to rapid weightloss. Acampbell have you had any problems with hairloss? I bought some stuff from amazon which someone from utube who had the surgery suggested it. I'm hoping it will help.
