Jane, I make a Protein coffee drink everyday just because I love it. I use Click mocha Decaf Protein Powder.< /p>

1/4 C. skim milk

Water

Ice cubes

2 Tbs. ground flax seed

2 big handfuls spinach

2 scoops Click

Then I flavor it with sugar free Syrup. Currently my favorite is a little Torani sf pumpkin pie syrup and a little sf brown sugar cinnamon syrup mixed together. SO good!

Blend together

I don't normally do sugar free stuff but I do love my sf syrups!

Hi ladies, haven't sent any messages in the last week but I have been reading. Work is so busy at the moment and I had SIL and family staying last week and then I travelled to see my mum at the weekend. I have had a very lazy day today though.

The scales have finally moved after 3 weeks and I am down 1.5lb, so chuffed. That makes me 172.5 so less than 10lb to my goal (163), I might re-evaluate when I get there but being at 163 would be a 100lb loss.

OD I think you are really brave, you have chosen to put yourself in a situation you do not want to be in but in your heart you know it is for best. There is a wonderful person out there just waiting for the beautiful you to walk into their life.

Totally understand about eating this weekend, is it the change in weather?

LV I too wonder about my increased capacity for food. I have to make a determined decision to put a small portion out, I reason with myself and say "if you are not full after that you can have some more", usually I don't but if I put the larger portion out I guess I would make a good job of getting it all down. I do still eat off a small plate so that my portions do not look too small.

Fasting tomorrow and looking forward to it. In fact I am going to try and have a light week on non fast days as I go away for six days on Sunday.

Sorry not to mention everyone by name but I am thinking of you all.

It's hard to mention everyone by name, unless I bring up another window next to this one so I can read everyone's posts.

I am wating for the fed ex man. The other day, Wed. was the day Allen and I had a big fight. I ended up putting my phone in my jacket pocket and then later throwing the jacket in the washer.

So I could not go to the gym which I know would make me feel better. endophins are great for that. I have to wait for the fed ex man cause I am so tired of not having my phone. I have a land line but everyone texts me . I put up a message on FB not to text me cause my phone is broken.

I am going to try to fast today but I am in a really bad mood. If my phone comes soon, that will improve my mood considerably.

Oh and I am up about 3 lbs. so that doesn't make me happy either.

Just go ahead and do what I do. POUT! It feels good for a day or so and then I snap out. Lol

You DESERVE A good pout. Phone, BF, Weight. Just pout! (Hoping that brought a smile to your face and more importantly, know you are thought of!!!)

Cathy, I'm "chuffed" for you too! What does that mean? LOL. That's exciting.

And you know about the food capacity? I, many times, fix a bigger portion THINKING I can eat it only to find there's no way. In reality, I think we overestimate the capacity. As long as it's clean, good food, I don't think we can really overeat. Now SLIDERS! A whole 'nother story. Just steer clear or RARELY indulge. I learned that the hard way!! :)

Georgia, chuffed definition - to be pleased, happy or proud of yourself. Sometimes people say "chuffed to bits" which means the same.

Not having my phone would put me in a bad mood, too. I would opt for waiting for the fed ex man...you need your phone! I also think it's good to have a good pout. Was the fed ex guy hot? ;)

regarding Eggface's treats, I have made her pumpkin Protein mini muffins with the vanilla glazed pepitas sprinkled on top and filled with sweetened ricotta. I made them for Thanksgiving last year and they were a smash hit with everyone, all non-ops. The fact that she (Eggface) takes the time to figure out how we can join in and not feel left out with treats, and that she spends the time to make sure that they are visually delicious, is just great. She has protein doughnuts, muffins, truffles, ice cream, cakes, and they are beautiful! The trick is in her ingredients, her substitutions, and the serving size, the mini muffins and doughnuts could fit on a silver dollar. The one and only drawback to (all) of her recipes, that just isn't for me, is the fact that she uses a LOT of fake or processed or pre-packaged foods. Since I am now dealing with auto-immune stuff I have become investigative about these things and am concerned about the chemicals used in SF foods, among other things.

So, I go here for a much healthier version of Starbuck's famous Pumpkin Spice Latte ...

http://www.foodiefiasco.com/?s=pumpkin

And sometimes when life gets sucky out here, at night I close my eyes and picture myself back home, in a coffee shop, with my sneaky healthy treats and ^latte. I picture my outfit, hair, everything. :)

Fast day today and for some reason I am feeling it, could that be because of ovulation? A gallon of hot green tea (blechh), a glass of green drink, a Protein Shake, a multi-colored salad with sardines.

Hi All, Still here, been really busy at work and evenings having to stuff 100 thank you party favors with Hersey Kisses. BTW 9 are 200 calories and 3 Protein, but 25 carb. So. I'll be glad when they are all boxed up and out of sight. Had a good Monday fast day. I've lost the 3 pounds gained from my vacation weekend.. The 3 pound gain that sent me over the edge. Thanks to everyone for pulling me off the ledge. Tracking again and now paying more attention to calories, used to focus on protein and carb count. Thanks FYE.. for pointing that out for me. Coming into the holidays which for my family is full of gatherings and eating, looking for good recipes . GT I'll pull out some of those treats and meals from Eggface. Also with the weather getting cold good Soup time. Hope everyone has a good day. Hugs OD!! this is a hard time, but think positive about the future.. ohh the possibilities!!

I had a tough day yesterday too. It was to be a FAST day but ended up closer to 700. Gah.

Thank you GT for that link, I need to investigate that further! You are right, Eggface uses a lot of artificial/sugar subs, etc. She has addressed it a bit but I'm always amazed at WHAT she can actually find that is SF. Little candies and whatnot. I do love some of her recipes though. And I love that when you are having a rough day you visualize being back stateside, in a coffeeshop with yummy treats and a cute outfit on. Love that!

Glad the -3 is gone and I have so totally been there when the scale and I don't agree about what IT SHOULD TELL ME! I give this advice all the time but sometimes it's hard to remember that the scale doesn't measure our self-worth. :)

Okay going to try a DO-OVER on yesterdays fasting day...so going for it today. See my surgeon tomorrow, so maybe it's just a last-ditch effort! HA!

Had a square of Rittersport dark w/hazelnuts v_v, but I'm still coming in at only 615 cals and low carbs so, I'm calling it a win!

....Rittersport stares at me from the checkout line in Trader Joes....

Brown, so glad you beat the 3 pounds,

I had a pretty good fast yesterday, did munch some crackers at the end of the day that added around 100 cals, but woke up to a .9 loss. I'll take it. That puts me two pounds from goal. Someday!....soon!

I made myself a giant bowl of egg drop white pepper Soup last night... so good... cabbage, carrots, fake chicken broth, one egg for the shreds, cilantro, white pepper, a dash of soy, some corn starch to thicken, and a little sesame oil for that nutty flavor. It was so good, will make again.

Good morning everyone else! Have a great day!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
