Congrats to you! I'm at the same clinic, but not until the 23rd. Chock is my surgeon. Who did you pick?

Best of luck! Hope you are doing okay with your pre-op diet! I've tried to do a practice run a couple times. First try was an epic fail (I hadn't figured out which Protein shakes I was willing to drink...), and today, I nearly made it to dinner! (I'm sure my failure to adhere had nothing whatsoever to do with it not being critical until next week!)

The pre-op diet hasn't been too bad.....trying to keep my eye on the prize! The sheet Sarah gave me said to lose 10 lbs in 7 days, and I'm down about 8. I'm glad this is the last day for that though. I have varied the Protein Shakes from the list though, but kept with the sugar free, low carb, high Protein variety. My surgeon is Michaelson. I've only heard good things a out him and NWWLS. I can't believe it's tomorrow!

Congrats, I had both of my kids at Evergreen. It's a nice hospital. I didn't get covered by insurance because my BMI wasn't high enough (which is such a joke) so I think that's why my process moved so quickly. I hope you hear good news back from yours. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I'm July 10th as well!!!

Yeah us!! Good luck on yours! I found out I don't check in until 11am which will be a killer since I can't eat or drink after midnight tonight. I'll have to swish Water in my mouth and spit it out!

Thanks and good luck to you. I too have a low BMi but have high blood pressure and sleep apnea so hopefully my insurance will pay.

Well, I survived! I'm home now and trying to take small sips of Water and clear Isopril. The pain feels like I did about 2000 crunches. It is a little sore to move or shift in bed, but walking seems to feel pretty good. One weird thing is being able to feel the sips hit the sleeve. It is pretty uncomfortable at first. i met Dr Chock today for my leak test. She had me take a sip of this really vile liquid so that we could watch it go through the sleeve. I found out that my idea of a sip equals about 3 sips to her. The big sip I took ended up refluxing. That really put perspective the size of my stomach.

For the NWWLS patients, the nursing staff was awesome. They only have 2 people at a time overnight so they are really there to serve you.

hi i also had my surgery on july 10. how ae you feeling? wishing you well.

I'm still sore and having a hard time getting fluids down. I'm not sure the volume I should be drinking. I keep telling myself that its only for a few days and then I should be able to drink more.

How about you? Feeling ok?

Thank you for the update! I hope that each day gets easier for both of you! Glad to hear that the nursing staff was great and that they only have 2 patients at night. Knowing that your idea of a small sip is 3 times what it should be will be helpful as well. I'll hopefully remember to adjust my perspective. Keep up the good work on fluids. There are tons of stories of people ending up in the emergency room with dehydration. I expect it will get a little easier every day as the swelling decreases. Hope to hear updates as you recover! I'm only about 12 days out now, myself. Starting my pre op diet on Monday. I can do anything for a week, right?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
