Showering with a Young Male Nurse in Mexico

Recommended Posts

I knew that would get everyone’s attention!

I thought it might be helpful to others to relate my one little experience with the language barrier when I was at the clinic in Cancun. Most of the nurses spoke at least some English. Vanessa, the clinic coordinator, spoke excellent English and gave us her card. She said a few of the night nurses did not speak English and if we had any problems, we should have them call her. Anyway, you want to hear the story… On my first day after surgery, 2 female nurses helped me with a shower. They took off the bandages, helped me get the hospital gown off with the IV, and told me to shower and wash the incisions with soap and Water. Then they helped me dry off and get back into the gown. On the second day (which was a Sunday), the nurse was a young male who didn’t speak English. I understood that he wanted me to get a shower. I was regretting that my husband had just left to get Breakfast. I was a little more mobile by now, but I hate the IV poles. The nurse turned on the shower and left the room, so I obligingly got the hospital gown off and stepped into the shower. At about this time, he came back with a female nurse (I think). She didn’t speak English either, but I realized that I should have waited for the bandages to be removed. She helped me remove them and I finished the shower. I think the poor male nurse was kind of embarrassed, mainly because here was granny and he couldn’t communicate with her! I felt bad for him, but I thought it was amusing! Anyway, that was my one “horror” story.

That is such a good story. Thanks I needed that. I am getting sleeved in TJ in a week and am getting real nervous. A little humor is always welcomed.

Nice! I wish I could have taken a shower at the hospital but all I reaslly wanted to do was sleep. But the day after I got home I was able to shower and it was wonderful!

Omg! I never thought about having a male nurse after surgery! Its bad enough to be vulnerable and in a hospital gown without having to worry about giving some guy PTSD in the shower! How many calories are in Whiskey again lol.

LOl! Probably the same poor male nurse they sent in to my room to put on my compression hose, right before surgery. Little tiny hose, nice giant thighs, and I had an IV in my arm and couldn't help much. So embarrassing.

Wonder what they talk about when they go home?

I felt bad for the young man. He was kind of shy, but very professional. I think he was trying to tell me he was going for a female and I didn't get it. But no harm done. He was just about young enough to be my grandson! I hope I didn't scar him for life!

That's so funny! But I'm serious, i used the clinic in Cancun, so it probably was the same little guy!

I had a male nurse in the hospital I stayed at and honestly after being exposed on the surgery table while on my period with just a pad between my legs and no underwear, I got over it. I honestly did not care at all, I just wanted to go the hell home lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
