Anyone else getting sleeved in August?

  • Popular Post

I finally have my surgery date (8/14) and I am beyond excited. Looking for some sleeve buddies to go through this process with. I have been making changes already and so far so good. I have increased my activity level and stopped drinking Diet Dr Pepper, which was a huge change for me. What is everyone else doing to prepare? Does anyone who is post op have any helpful tips for things to have on hand after surgery?

Was scheduled for 9/3 but was called today saying that I was approved and changed to Aug. 20! 2 days missed on pre-op diet so starting in the morning going in hard.

Hi I am getting sleeved one week from today. I started to do liquids today but was starving all day. I had to have a lean dinner. I am on thyroid meds so that makes me really hungry. One week from today. Very excited.

I feel you Nett (sleeve sister)! I take insulin which increases my hunger. This head hunger business is the worse!

Whop Whop!! Day 1 of pre-op diet completed. I am on a liquid diet, I thought it would be worse....but then again it is only my first day. I am going to bed still feeling hungry. :( I hope I can contiune to stay positive. Surgery 8/21 :D

I'm having mine done on August 19th' date=' and an incredibly excited! I'm trying to be better about my eating (a big step for me, as I love junk food) and today when I realized I needed groceries, I put on the brand new walking shoes I bought yesterday, threw on my backpack, and walked a mile to the store! Whatever I purchased, I carried home on my back or in a bag. :) In this crazy heat, the sweat ran like rain, my friend! LOL!

Anyway, eating better and going to try to walk 45 min (at least) 5 days a week. :) I'm new to the site and would love some new friends to go through the process with too!

Good luck![/quote']

I'm scheduled for Aug 19 too.excited and nervous!

Finished up day 3 of liquid pre-op diet. I'm so tired all the time. It sucks. Ugh. Can't wait to my surgery date August 19th.

Another 19th'er like me whoop whoop! It sounds like we are at nearly the same place with the pre op diet as well. I know it will be worth it, but it is tough going right now.

Mine is the 19th as well. However my blood pressure numbers have the surgeon worried. It was 140/100 but only at my primary care doc office. At EDG yesterday it was 160/83 and my 2nd PCP it was 140/89! I am starting the pre-op in hopes that it helps lower my pressure. I go back to my PCP on Monday..if its not lowered, surgeon won't do the surgery.

Pray for me please.

This is my first post ever! I have been reading forums here for months and finally decided to take the social plunge and join. My date is 8/13. I am on day 7 of liquid diet. My surgeon is Dr. Northrup in Cincinnati. I am eaten up with anxiety & excitement. 2 days left to work and then off for 3 weeks! Anyone else 8/13?

We have the same date and surgeon! Small world lol

It is tough but it's something that has to be done. All my pre-op stuff is done, just gotta finish my last 10 days of this.
