Anyone else getting sleeved in August?

  • Popular Post

I finally have my surgery date (8/14) and I am beyond excited. Looking for some sleeve buddies to go through this process with. I have been making changes already and so far so good. I have increased my activity level and stopped drinking Diet Dr Pepper, which was a huge change for me. What is everyone else doing to prepare? Does anyone who is post op have any helpful tips for things to have on hand after surgery?

I'm having mine done on August 19th, and an incredibly excited! I'm trying to be better about my eating (a big step for me, as I love junk food) and today when I realized I needed groceries, I put on the brand new walking shoes I bought yesterday, threw on my backpack, and walked a mile to the store! Whatever I purchased, I carried home on my back or in a bag. :) In this crazy heat, the sweat ran like rain, my friend! LOL!

Anyway, eating better and going to try to walk 45 min (at least) 5 days a week. :) I'm new to the site and would love some new friends to go through the process with too!

Good luck!

Had mine done on the 6th. No preparation asked for and surgery went well, 2 1/2 hours operating. Had a hernia that doc fixed - said I didn't know I had one and he said most of us previous banders have them! Nice to know!

No pain but offered relief frequently. I am having a little trouble drinking all that is required and still on drip but doc happy and home tomorrow which is great as very bored here. Not hungry at all BUT when hubby came for a visit and ate corned beef sandwich in front of me my mouth was watering. Going to have to watch that as have to do a lot of cooking once home.

Finished up day 3 of liquid pre-op diet. I'm so tired all the time. It sucks. Ugh. Can't wait to my surgery date August 19th.

I been cheating got to do better my sugar leave had drop and I are a small salad

Headed to the hospital. I'm a ball of nerves. I can't believe it's finally here!!!!!

Love that doggy in your picture I love Doxins! Good luck to you, you are going to do great!

Good luck to you I asked my mom and daughter to eat when I am not home or if they get something out to eat it there, they have been helping me with that. No way am I cooking until I can eat solid food. Just always have your shake or something made for you so you wont be tempted!!! Best Wishes..

I have been on my pre-op diet since 8/1 and boy it has been hard!! Im only allow the protein drinks and shakes from my doctor's office as well as some green veggies. Today i cheated bad :( had like an oz of rice and some grill chicken breast and a spoonful of pasta salad and i feel soooo guilty!!! My surgery

I am suposed to have two protein shakes and one bowl of brothy soft soup and two snacks like jello or pudding sugar free. If your going to cheat stay away from carbs like rice and pasta I think the chicken was fine. I cheated yesterday sort of with a turkey salad vinegar and olive oil dressing no salt. But I am back on track!!! Just continue what you are doing and remember it will be over soon its only temp and the more you loose the better your surgery will go. Thats what I keep telling myself. You are doing great!!!

You must be in my area - my diet is exactly the same. I'm having mine done at Baylor of Grapevine. Aug 13.

Me to Baylor TrophyClub! Cant wait nervous but sooooo excited. Best wishes for you. 8/19

Had my initial consult and psych eval yesterday and they scheduled me for the 26th!! Excited....Scared...OMG...I'm freakin out!!! Can't think about anything else. I start my pre-op 2week liquid diet Monday. That's going to suck big time. Wish everybody the best of luck.

This is My first time posting but have been reading for a week. My surgery is Monday. Super excited and stressed. I've been scouring for all the info I can find and have been very impressed with the info I've found here. I started this journey 6 weeks ago and now I'm here. Just days away from surgery! Good luck to all!
