Day 10 of my 2 week pre op diet. I cheated once on day 2, and I've been good since.. until today :(. My best friend is going through a divorce so I was at her house all day moving his stuff out. In 90 degree heat. I sweated and sweated and not matter how much Water I drank I still felt so dizzy. We took the kids to Taco Bell and I had a freakin soft taco. I immediately felt horrible! I'm 4 days away!!! What's wrong it's me?! And even worse.. I contemplated making myself throw it up to relieve the guilt. I'm going to remain dedicated the next four days. But I'm upset that I ate knowing I shouldn't, and I'm also upset that I considered throwing it up. Maybe I need to see a counselor. Do they have counseled especially for food problems? I hope I didn't screw up my liver. I'm just so mad -_-

Please do not be so hard on yourself, you are only human! Just stay dedicated the next four days and you will be fine :) Are you on strictly liquids only? I know some people are allowed to have some type of Protein and salad and then the last 3 days are full Clear Liquids but everyone's doctors are different.

Keep your head up you will do just fine, you were doing great and plus its not like you had 3 or 5 tacos ;)

Good luck with surgery!!! Can't wait for you to join me on the losers bench!!

Wow, you are way too tough on yourself. Your liver will be fine. Just do well the next 4 days.

Eating a soft taco is better than fainting. You were likely low on electrolytes.

Don't beat yourself up to much, you're human. I haven't started my preop diet yet but for people like us that are addicted to food 2 weeks seems like forever. That one taco won't screw up your liver. Keep your eye on the prize! :)

I know I'm hard on myself. I'm a perfectionist and very serious when someone gives me rules or guidelines. I guess in a way I don't want my surgeon to open me up and just "know" I cheated.

I'm not sure if they say it to scare us, but at pre op testing yesterday she double checked that I haven't cheated because he will know when he opens me up

It takes food 3 hours tops to leave the stomach. This must be an amazing doc. Sounds like a crock.

Lol. It was the nurse doing all the test that said that. She said he could tell by my liver size

The taco that blew up a liver. Unless there was nitro in the hot sauce I wouldn't worry. :D

I ordered grilled shrimp during my preop diet and they lied it was shrimp scampi. I had to eat, so I tried to get the butter off in a napkin lol. Had nightmares about that buttered shrimp. Ask my husband, I sounded as if I had murdered someone by eating the shrimp, I planned a lot better after that with only. Few days left and I did still lose 10 pounds on the preop an my surgeon was pleased. Just a minor set back. Put it behind you and do what I did. Make sure you have no room for error the last few days lol

If eating ONE taco made our livers swollen, we'd all be walking around with livers the size of a tractor-trailer! Don't beat yourself up; I don't even have a pre-op diet and my surgery is on Monday. You bet yer bippy I've been having little treats here and there. On Monday I had a slice of pizza (as opposed to eating the whole thing) and today I had a medium cup of coffee with cream and flavor-syrup (instead of an extra large with extra everything). You're going to do great, just climb back up on the discipline horse.

Okay, that sounded weird...you know what I mean, LOL!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
