Am I in trouble?? I will hit 30 days PO tomorrow. I had shrimp fried rice last night. I had about 4 shrimps n some rice, maybe half a cup if that! Was this too much? I did pace myself. And it was delicious. I'm scared I did too much. Help!

I'm impressed you could eat that much. You didn't do any damage I'm sure.

I was surprised too. I think I had about 8 small forks worth of rice.

I had some beef broccoli in garlic sauce last weekend and it was so good! Like you I only had just a little, maybe 1/2 c. but it was worth the splurge...although eating spicy food and not drinking is a different experience :)

Are you asking if the fried rice will hurt or damage your stomach, or if it's OK to eat it to lose weight?

Is shrimp fried rice on your doctors post-op diet? The shrimp is fine, but the rice is solely carb and not a lot of nutrition. At this phase, you should be focused on Protein to the max and adding very little complex carb through veggie form into your diet - not simple carbs like rice. Plus, most restaurants add a LOT of butter/oil/MSG to make it taste really good. Are you doomed? Is this the worst thing? Heck no. But I'd advise talking to your doctor/nutritionist about it and make sure it's allowed, if so how often and how much is OK. Only speaking from my personal experience and the diet my doctor had me doing - he would have told me, "NO, absolutely not." Rice was not allowed back in to my diet until many months out and is always advised only AFTER having my Protein and veggie/fruit first.

But don't kick yourself about it. I know I didn't eat "perfectly" all this time and it was good to treat myself sometimes to keep myself sane. So long as you know how to stop and when enough is enough. If you're losing weight and your labs are good, keep going!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
