Hey guys 2 days post op and very sore. Surgery went well.. no external drain.. was released from hospital the next day. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I am nervous about my new journey. I have been overweight my entire life and always dreamed of being average size. Now that the time has come I am scared. Has anyone else been through this?

My first few days were rough but today marks 5 weeks out and I wouldnt trade this decision for anything. I'm already down a pant size and feel better and have more energy than ever. It definitely gets better! Once you start eating foods again and see the weight melt off it'll all be worth the few days of discomfort!

Hey there, YES! I went through the "oh my goodness, what have I done!" Then remorse for not being able to eat the same things while my family ate. I went through thinking how terrible it was to eat and drink now and how my life would never be the same.

BUT

I dont know when it happened, but there was some point that this new journey became habit. I no longer have trouble eating, I know how to eat slowly, chew well, small bites, Protein first, lots of liquid. My family is now eating healthier since I have been AND I have almost lost 90 pounds and have realized that when I lost the ability to eat as much as before, I gained so much more!!! I gained a healthier lifestyle, I gained more energy, I gained more self confidence and I am hoping that I have added years onto my life.

Yes!! I was scared at first but I can honestly say that it was the best decision of my life! Just take it one step at a time and pretty soon things will calm down and become a new normal for you! Heres hoping that is soon!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
