Life after the sleve....

Recommended Posts

I keep reading these posts about people have trouble eating more than a couple of teaspoons of food and barely being able to drink, I unfortunately do NOT have that problem. I can drink anything with fairly large drinks. Food, no problem! What about the rest of you that have been revised? Are we just used to dealing with this stuff from having the band or am I a freak of nature!?!?

I'm not a revision. Sleeved 3 weeks ago.

Drinking is no problem for me now.

Still on full liquids but it includes cottage cheese, refried Beans, yogurt, etc... Serving size is 1/2 c. Might take a little while but is just right for me.

Had my revision on May 6th. I think I was used to eating little portions with the band so I really haven't had much of problem with any food. My surgeons diet restrictions are a little conservative so I was on soft to regular as tolerated after 2.5 weeks. I can eat more than a lot of people at this stage like 1/2 cup to 1 cup of food. I can eat rice which some can't for a long time. I can eat a whole Greek Yogurt no problem. A friend of mine was eating a quarter cup for months. I guess everyone is different. I still won't attempt bread or Pasta for awhile because of the fear I still have from the band. I couldn't eat those things than and since they are fattening I am trying to stay clear of them for awhile.

I'm 4 weeks out & can drink as much as I want. I'm eating about 3/4 cup of food at a time but I'm getting hungry quicker & more often as I go. Did anyone understand that we wouldn't experience as much hunger with the sleeve than the band?

6 months out. Have always been able to drink like a horse without problem and when I do eat it's never more than the measured amt recommended by my dr. Fortunately, I don't have hunger, but heard it will return eventually :(

Im nearly 3 weeks out and can drink no problems...also im on puree stage but can eat more than i expected, maybe 3/4 cup and feel hungry pretty quickly again after... i was told that the surgeon couldnt take as much of my stomach as he would have on a virgin stomach because of all the damage from the band :(

I'm nearly six months out and how much I can eat widely depends on WHAT I'm eating. For some reason I can eat a huge amount of salad even if I'm not piling on the dressing, but I had BBQ the other day, ribs smothered in sauce, and I could eat about a half cup of that.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
