Wife's surgery this morning went great...

Just thought I would pop on here and let the board know that my wife was banded this morning by Dr. Arturo Rodriguez, and the surgery went perfectly with no complications.

The hospital [saint Engracia] is as nice as any I have seen and the nurses have been incredibly attentive to my wife during the day.

Dr. Rodriguez is one of the most patient and gracious physicians I have ever dealt with, both personally and professionally. He answered many [and I do mean many] questions via email and phone leading up to the surgery without any reserve or hesitation.

My wife is feeling no pain today [good drugs] and getting plenty of sleep...taking in some of the juice and ice they have given her as she could...but otherwise the only real issue was some nausea coming out of the general anesthesia, which they quickly countered with some drugs in her IV.

I am at the hotel with my son, but she is on my mind and I am comfortable in the knowledge that she is in excellent hands. Dr. Rodriquez will be visiting her later this evening to see how she is doing.

One down, a lifetime to go...so begins her journey.

LJ,

You really impress me. Thank you for helping your wife find the best surgeon and keeping her health at heart. I read your origonal email and left it thinking "WOW" now there is a smart wonderful man. Its a good thing we are both taken. LOL. I am glad your wife is doing fine and surgery went well. Please keep us updated on her progress. We would love to meet her personally on here too if she ever wants to say hello. Best wishes to you and your family, Teresa

I am so thankful that her surgery went well. Keep us posted on her progress and let us know when she goes home. Have her come and introduce herself if she wants. We would love to get to know her as well.

Wow, there are a few really sweet husbands around here. LJ, thanks for posting... brought a tear to my eye.

Peace, LJ (Lisa Joanne.)

I find myself feeling a combination of nervousness and anxiety that I cannot be with her in the room all the time...but know she is well taken care of.

I am sure once we are home she will hop on here and get in the mix of things. I know she has read the board and liked the content and the lack of all the other things I have mentioned about some of the other groups and such.

Thanks again...

LJ

Hi LJ,

I'm so glad everything went smoothly for ya'll. She is lucky to have you there with her. Best wishes as she begins her banded journey. Take care!

LJ,

I am so glad your wife had a simular experience to mine...Dr. A. Rodriguez is wonderful. He sat with me after my surgery and even had adrianna his assistant take my mom out for lunch. I felt very comphy with him. His bed side manner and after care is wonderful. Call him or patti L. and they will either call you right back or talk to you then. Be sure to ask what kind of band your wife has. I have the Swedish band and it holds more liquid so don't be surprised when you read that everyone here is getting 1cc and he say your wife is getting 3cc's ...(that was one of my recient questions.) Well good luck and please tell Dr. Rodriguez I will see him in dallas on the 13th of next month!

Congratulations, Mrs. L.J. So glad the surgery went well. Now your new "improved" life begins! I just want to know if you're as cute as Mr. L.J. is.
