I was sleeved on the 21st so I am not that far ahead of you. My question would be - do you have to pass gas? I did not break wind until after I got home and started the clear diet.

If you are worried because you have not, yet do not feel the need to (no pain, gas, etc...) I think you are ok.

Well my stomach keeps rumbling now but I'm not bloated or in any pain from the gas. The nurses said I can go home as soon as I pass gas.

Good luck with that. It was not a requirement for me to get out or else I would have stayed longer. I was never in any pain or distress because I was not farting.< /p>

I should add the first time I had to, it was one of the most pleasant experiences of my life... I was quite the fart machine before the surgery :)

I was also sleeved on May 21st and I did not begin passing gas until day 4.

I too, had surgery on the 28th. I just started passing today. It was so bad I was getting nauseated. I think the more walking around, the better. Last night I tried to roll on my side and that helped move the bubbles down. Besides being weak, this is my only true pain I have.

Lego how are you doing with fluids ? Today I had 3 oz of orange sugar free Jello 3oz beef broth and 3 oz chicken broth for dinner. Water was making me feel nausea but I've been getting my water in by sucking on ice cubes

I didn't pass gas for a week or two. I was so bloated but didn't have much pains at times I wish I could have passed some lol. I didn't have a BM for 12 days either. Everybody is different don't fret. Your body is getting a big shock right now with all the changes it will take some time to level out. Best of luck!

Yeah I passed gas this morning looks like I'm going home. But my main incision is still killing me . How long does this pain usually last for? I know everyone is different but I would just like an estimate because I have to go back to work on the 10th

You should be fine by the 10th. The main incision was the most uncomfortable for me and took the longest to heal. I had to make sure nothing even touched it! The good news is it has become just a distant memory ;)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
