May 31, 201313 yr Still in the hospital and my stomach is still very sore. Still have not passed gas any suggestions? I have been walking a lot but still nothing. Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks kevin
May 31, 201313 yr I was sleeved on the 21st so I am not that far ahead of you. My question would be - do you have to pass gas? I did not break wind until after I got home and started the clear diet. If you are worried because you have not, yet do not feel the need to (no pain, gas, etc...) I think you are ok.
May 31, 201313 yr Author Well my stomach keeps rumbling now but I'm not bloated or in any pain from the gas. The nurses said I can go home as soon as I pass gas.
May 31, 201313 yr Good luck with that. It was not a requirement for me to get out or else I would have stayed longer. I was never in any pain or distress because I was not farting.
May 31, 201313 yr I should add the first time I had to, it was one of the most pleasant experiences of my life... I was quite the fart machine before the surgery
May 31, 201313 yr Author I guess I can lie to them but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't screwing anything up,thanks for the replies
May 31, 201313 yr I guess I can lie to them but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't screwing anything up' date='thanks for the replies[/quote'] Good call... Just wait until it happenss. Try not to think about it. Best of luck!
May 31, 201313 yr I too, had surgery on the 28th. I just started passing today. It was so bad I was getting nauseated. I think the more walking around, the better. Last night I tried to roll on my side and that helped move the bubbles down. Besides being weak, this is my only true pain I have.
May 31, 201313 yr Author Lego how are you doing with fluids ? Today I had 3 oz of orange sugar free jello 3oz beef broth and 3 oz chicken broth for dinner. Water was making me feel nausea but I've been getting my water in by sucking on ice cubes
May 31, 201313 yr I didn't pass gas for a week or two. I was so bloated but didn't have much pains at times I wish I could have passed some lol. I didn't have a BM for 12 days either. Everybody is different don't fret. Your body is getting a big shock right now with all the changes it will take some time to level out. Best of luck!
May 31, 201313 yr Author Yeah I passed gas this morning looks like I'm going home. But my main incision is still killing me . How long does this pain usually last for? I know everyone is different but I would just like an estimate because I have to go back to work on the 10th
May 31, 201313 yr You should be fine by the 10th. The main incision was the most uncomfortable for me and took the longest to heal. I had to make sure nothing even touched it! The good news is it has become just a distant memory
June 1, 201313 yr The main incision takes about 14 days to heal. The best thing to do to is walk around as much as possible! Make sure you stay hydrated! I am 5 months out and feel amazing. It gets easier, I promise you!
