    Maintenance

I am getting close to my goal (5-8 lbs. to go) and Im wondering how that works out. I weight train 3 times a week, and cardio 3 times a week, and if I continue this rate, I will lose to much weight. Any suggestions?

    Feb. 12!

Any Feb. 12 sleevers?? Lets do this!
  4. Trying insanity would definitely honor its name!
  5. Hi Mamamareli, At times Ive HAD to have foods to get to a decent daily caloric intake. I will have an oreo or 2 when I tally up my calories ( I use my fitness pal)... I have been very successful with food tracking. Remember, our food intake is sooo restricted that having an occasional brownie might help us more than it will harm us. Best of luck!
  6. I totally felt the same way! I was sleeved 5/12 and while everyone was saying how breezy their recovery was I was hunched over in pain. I was even walking around like an old lady and was bruised really bad. I had a slow recovery, but it has been such a rewarding experience. Best of luck!
  7. Maybe try weighing in weekly. The scale can become your worst enemy... It was for me. Life has become so much easier after I backed away from it. Things like water retention and your period play a huge role with the scale, so don't stress about it so much... Especially at day 6. Good luck!
  8. I was sleeved in Feb. but clearly remembered the anxiety. The doctor recommended I take a daily spoonful of milk of magnesia. I had a smooth bowel movement on the 5th day and never had issues since. I actually had to cut back on it. Good luck to all!
  9. Congratulations! Things are only going to get better!! Im at 142/ size 8. A freaking size 8! Its a great feeling! Enjoy your process!
  10. Hi all! Since we are past the 6 month mark, according to my doctor it is time we take into consideration what our gall bladders are up to. I know every doctor is different, but if you haven't had that talk with your physician/nut, maybe you should consider it. A considerable percentage of WLS surgery patients have to undergo gall bladder removal because of the drastic change in weight and if any of us can prevent it, all the better!
  11. I think tracking your food helps a lot with the guilt of cravings. I have my occasional cookie or brownie, and Oreo 100 cal packs are a staple in my diet. Tracking for me has made me aware of what Im eating and if I can have that little indulgence.

    how does this play out?

I was sleeved 2/12/13. I now get hunger pangs but its nothing you should worry about. I do 6 meals a day and my body is pretty much used to having mini-meals. The pangs kick in when I skip a meal... Not randomly, or all day. If a crave a brownie, I make it a mini-meal. Im super happy with my results and my new lifestyle. Good luck!

    "Hair" Today, Gone Tomorrow...

Yep, hairloss happens. Good news is it stops. I will be 6 months post op tomorrow and my hairloss has reduced dramatically. My weapons of choice are biotin shampoo, and 10,000 mcg of biotin a day (thats the strongest dosage), and most of all I didnt stress about it. Take that picture of your fallen hair and delete it. Looks whatever falls out pick it up, throw it out and dont look back. My hair was down to my waist and my hairdresser trimmed off about 3 inches. I refused to cut it all off because I told myself it wouldnt come to that. Stay positive! Mind over matter!

    Popcorn?

I have pop corners about 2 times a week. Is that considered pop corn? Im 6 months out. Should I worry?
  15. What is a 5 day pouch test? Btw, your results are awesome! It may not be 100 lbs. but you dropped quite a few sizes!

    Any regrets?

My only regret was going into it expecting the same recovery as one of my friends... She told me that she even forgot at times that she had the procedure. What I learned from this is that EVERYONE is different. We all have a different journey and recovery process. Other than that, it is the best thing I have done in my life. Im soo happy and wish you the best! You are going to love your sleeve!

    Less or more calories?

Why dont you use My Fitness Pal? It has really helped me stay on track of my food. I think you should relax a little in figuring out a calorie formula for your weight loss. Most of us eat under 1200 calories a day, and we all go through stalls. When we go below that, our body goes into starvation mode and shuts down any weight loss. It is our metabolism's way of keeping us healthy. Best of luck!
  18. Girrrl don't be depressed when you look like that! 40% weight loss is awesome! Hang in there through that stall!

Be afraid, Be Very Afraid !

I think everyone approaches this differently given the set of people you know. I have been open about it to my friends and family and have gotten nothing but support. I am one of the lucky ones. I feel especially compelled to let tell people that are struggling with weight about my experience. I don't tell random people I haven't seen in a while about my procedure because it isn't worth it. Ultimately this is the BEST decision I have made for myself and I am to busy loving the results to care what anyone thinks. Best of luck to you!

Are There Any Single Sleevers Out There..

Consider yourself hit on. You are a cute one!
  21. I think your body is in starvation mode. Maybe you should increase your calorie intake for a couple of days. For me, the helps tremendously. Also, tracking what I eat on My Fitness Pal is a good way to see where you are at in regards to vitamins, workouts and calories.
  22. I think its all the working out I've been doing... Ive lost 18" in 40 days!
