  1. I think what most of us who wondered this same thing would agree on is getting FLUIDS first at this point in your recovery, and if those fluids get your daily amount of protein, great. If not, the objective is not becoming dehydrated.... that is a far worse problem then hitting your daily protein goal.

    Baylor Trophy Club

I had a private room and no problem with the nurses... many of whom were contract.
  3. Came in to see what is going on amongst us Dr. Kim'ers and kind of surprised there is not more discussion in here.

I should add the first time I had to, it was one of the most pleasant experiences of my life... I was quite the fart machine before the surgery

Good luck with that. It was not a requirement for me to get out or else I would have stayed longer. I was never in any pain or distress because I was not farting.

I was sleeved on the 21st so I am not that far ahead of you. My question would be - do you have to pass gas? I did not break wind until after I got home and started the clear diet. If you are worried because you have not, yet do not feel the need to (no pain, gas, etc...) I think you are ok.

First night home, How to sleep?

I slept in our recliner night 2-4. Was able to sleep in bed comfortably starting night 5 with the help of pillows propping my chest/head up higher than I normally like... but I woke up feeling good.

    jerky?

For a food that is traditionally dehydrated to preserve it, I don't think i could put anything in my new stomach knowing it is going to be difficult to break down due to the lack of "water" in it for at least 3 months post op. However, everyone is different and heals in different ways. Talk to your doc or nut about it.

    Im sick

    Did you go?

    Im sick

I would, especially if you have not seen your surgeon recently. They may tell you go to ER, but at least they know something is going on with you. May not be related to your surgery but I would not chance it with those symptoms.
  12. I was sleeved on the 21st and the worst part of this since then was the nausea waking up and lasting throughout the morning of day 2. I went home that evening after the nausea subsided. I was up and walking as much as i could tolerate and i think that helped get that crap out of my system. Since I have been home the only problem i am having is finding a comfortable sleeping position, even in a recliner. Walking around the block helps when i start to feel gas. Will ususally resolve early in the walk, so then i just continue for the exercise. Not having any problems keeping liquids in. Not on pain meds any more as of today, so hoping it stays this way.
  13. I would simply explain that you are following what your doctor wants you to do, and both your doctor and yourself are satisfied with the results. If he can't be happy for you then I would not even discuss it with him at all, customer or not.
