I've noticed there are jealous people. My own friend that I thought was my best friend, was jealous of my weight loss. She threw at my face that I had the sleeve. The sleeve is not magic.. Takes just as much commitment n hard work !!!

My sister who has always been "the skinny one" has made several remarks to the effect that I might get skinnier than her and that would be "no fair". WTF?

Try to blow it off; those who haven't gone through it have no idea....

Here's my rant on that from August 2011:

http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/23101-you-weigh-less-than-me-and-you-better-not-weigh-less-than-me/page__hl__lsereno#entry195171

And I still weighed quite a bit back then!

I am so sorry that happened. I have worried about exactly the same thing. I have told only a few people that I am having the surgery, all others will be told that I am having a hernia repair (which I am having at the same time).

Most of my gal pals are curvy :-). A couple are watching and asking a lot of questions because they are interested in the procedure for themselves. A few others watch from afar with genuine concern. There's one who is supposed to be my BFF, but has virtually disappeared. There are two who have verbally expressed their frustration, more so with themselves, and apologized for their hostility. And finally, my sister-in-law who is so desperate to have the surgery (and begged me not to have it without her), is falling into a deep clinical depression.

My skinny friend expressed her past fear of coming to visit because she always gained weight being around me. I think that one has been the most painful to hear, because I know it was true.

I expect to move to another state in about two years when my son graduates high school (husband's job). It will be interesting to see what my new friends look like, as in, birds of a feather flock together. Will they all be smaller?Interesting sociology question.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
