Newbie and looking for a Doc in Boston

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have just started doing the research of this lapband procedure and I can't tell you how excited I am about it! I didn't even know that this existed! I am going on the 28th to a seminar to hear all about it. I have scheduled an apt. with my doctor to talk to her about it. Would any of you know of a good Doctor in the Boston area? I would appreciate any recomondations. I looked at the before and after pictures and ended up in tears....you all look so great.....and happy! Thanks, Nicole :help:

Hi Nicole,

First off, welcome, and congrats on making the first steps towards a huge change. I am also in Boston, and had the procedure in April by Dr. Hess. When I first met with him, he had only been doing the procedure for about a year or so, but I had heard really good things about him, and as BMC is where my primary doc is, that's where I decided to go. The team there is great, and I've had a GREAT experience with Dr. Hess and his team. Good luck with your journey, and don't hesitate to ask any quesions at all.

Best,

C

I go to Dr. Ashley Vernon at Brigham and Womens. She is really nice and her support staff is fantastic. To get more reviews of doctors try obesityhelp.com they have a section that reviews hospitals and surgons. It really helped me to make my decision. Goodluck!

Thank you very much to you all for getting back to me! I am still so new at this, I didn't even know how to check what replies I got. Brigims and Womans is right down the street from my hubbys parents house so that would be really nice to have it done their. I saw all your pics and you all look great! Thanks again, Nicole

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
