800 Calories Per Day? Yikes!

I'm 5 months post-op and my NUT wants me to stay under 800 calories per day. I'm wondering if this is typical. It's hard to meet my protein goal and stay under 800 calories.

I'm 5 months & that's about all I CAN get in! I get my protein in...but I do have to drink a protein shake to do it!

Yes that's normal. I have been told 600-800 cal a day during weight loss period 1000-1200 in maintenance. I too struggle with keeping it under 800 cal a day. Go for the leanest meats & seafood possible. I have found so far turkey, bison, and salmon have the best bang for your buck so too speak with protein vs calories per ounce :)

I'm 9 months out and can't imagine eating more then 800 calories a day.
