Any Chicago sleevers

Recommended Posts

I am from Chicago and I hope to be having my surgery at University of Chicago. I am waiting on approval from the insurance company and then it will be set a date. I am very excited due to reading about all the success everyone is having but I am also very vervous about the surgery and fear of failing due to so many diets have failed. But I am keeping the faith and being calm.

This is my first week back to work since surgery 6/3. Luckily my first two days I worked from home. Today is my first day in the office....not a bad day. My mom bought me a bday cake yesterday ( actual bday is 7/18 )she said she wanted to catch me in a good mood before returning to the office. Lol

I thanked her for the cake and then told her to take it to her house. She gave me a funny look. I was like " um thank you' date=' but georgette can only have about a fork full of all of that yumminess."

It's quick how people forget that our eating habits have changed.[/quote']

Actually I've calmed down A LOT !!! I know its going to happen. Trying to get away from negative thinking... You know self sabotage... In the back of my mind I was thinking that they weren't going to approve me because I had no other health issues other than being over weight... I'm just thankful now... I feel blessed ;)

Thank you. I made it through the week, but I've been coming home going straight to bed. Hopefully next week things will be better. I have to see Laurie on Tuesday, maybe I'll come to 20 to say hi to you and Francine.

Thanks TV-Duhhh, I'm surprised that Stephanie didn't schedule your surgery and 4th preop class when she told you that the insurance approved your surgery.

Sorry I don't know where my head is. My appointment is Monday at 1:30. For some reason I kept thinking the 22nd was Tuesday.

Hi I'm in Chicago - oak park area. I am four months post op. I had my surgery at UIC hospital. I am a vegetarian and about to become a pescotarian next. Onto becam struggling with getting my protien in. I have lost 52 lbs- no working out. I have had two spine surgeries since the sleeve. So I am grateful that I have still been able to lose weight. Currently, I have been walking three miles for the last week! I hope I will begin to lose more weight now that I am not in bed all day.

My struggle is getting the proten in. I had Protein Shakes. Today my goal is to eat 70 grams of protein- even if I don't like it.

I am willing to walk , meet or build relationship with sleepers in the area. Congrats to those who are about to be sleeved-- it's a great thing!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
