How much fried chicken would you even eat? I'm of the theory that one bite would be okay. Before the surgery it might have been three pieces....but one bite? I would get my fix, accept the calories/carbs for it, and move on. I'm 12 weeks out and have followed most rules, but have had a stray a few times. I log it in, and move on. Accept responsibility for it. Or find a substitute. I've also found that once I have it... the urge is really gone to have it again. I suppose we are all different.

One bite would do it for me! Just as you I would track it and keep it moving.

Healthy Oven Fried chicken Tenders

Submitted by: MANDI_CAN

Introduction

We prefer these over FRIED! Soooo delicious, and easy too!!!!

Minutes to Prepare: 15

Minutes to Cook: 20

Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup skim milk

2 cups corn flakes Cereal

seasoned salt (optional)

garlic salt (optional)

Preheat oven to 350. Crush cornflakes (I use my food processor) until broken into tiny pea-size and smaller pieces. Place crumbs in large bowl with lid (Crumbs get moist and don't stick well if you dip one piece of chicken at a time). Cut chicken into strips and dip in milk; place half of dipped chicken in bowl of crumbs. shake well to cover; repeat with other half of chicken. Spray baking sheet with cooking spray and place chicken in pan. If you like extra crunchy chicken you can re dip them in the crumbs. Sprinkle with seasonings if desired. Cook 20-25 minutes...or until inside of tenders are white.

Your right about the one bite satisfying the urge thing. I mean I have completely cut out sweets juices fatty meats like sausage bacon certain types of steaks. But sometimes I get weak. We all do. Im human.

Good! i like the cereal bit because its a little decadent :D I wonder if it would be better on your system too! Since you've cut out all greasy type foods (meats) already?

I'm six months out and about a month ago I had a little bit of a carls junior "low carb" burger (no bun) and hello! The bathroom and I became inseparable the next few days :P

Just have the chicken. You'll only be able to have a couple of bites anyway before reality sets in. The heaviness of fried foods becomes very apparent after you haven't had them in a while. I got the chicken for the rest of the family ( sale at KFC- my boys love it) and I knew when I was driving to get it that I would definitely have some. Took a small piece and started eating it. 2 bites later i say to myself "Oh. Perhaps this wasn't a good idea since I now feel nauseous and am contemplating puking"..

I haven't had the urge to eat fried chicken since then. Honestly, I have done the same with every food I have wanted post op. I got it, I ate it. For the most part it only takes one time of indulging in the forbidden foods for me to decide it was a bad choice.

Now the candy - that's another story. I can eat a lot of it and not feel bad at all. Go figure. So now I have to monitor the candy intake. Yippie.

Sharon I love you girl! So you think she should eat it so it will make her sick? Hehehe... so like aversion therapy?

Oh and when you get further out you will be able to eat anything again, so I wouldn't worry to much about giving up the KFC (see I told you guys there was a deal going on :P) you will be able to eat it again in time :D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
