I am leaning more towards choosing Garcia as my doctor since he is cheaper and I can really use the extra money towards something else.

I was hoping to find more people on here that used Dr. Garcia at florence hospital because that's where I want to go. Not Mi hospital. I've read lots of people experiences in that one.

I will be there on Wednesday to have my surgery so I will let you know once I get back.

What exactly would you like to know ? Nice room attentive nurse, extra sleeping for guest. I think there are some pictures here posted by other members

A lot of details lol such as how are the nurses? Do they seem to know what their doing with iv etc.? How is the noise level there, are the nurses loud at night, do you hear a lot of outside noise? Do they give you pain meds, are they quick to respond to your calls? How is the room tempature, if it's too hot do they just stick a fan in there or is each room air conditioned and controlled to your needs? How often does an actual doctor check on you and are you able to get a hold of a doctor once you are back at the hotel?

I was at Florence 15 weeks ago. The nurses were WONDERFUL there to me and my companion. I had weekend surgery so the Sunday shift (24 hours) was the time when communication was most difficult. I have a little Spanish but they had NO English so a couple of times they had to get the floor's doctor to come interpret. It wasn't bad. In terms of professionalism they were wonderful. They went above and beyond in a couple of cases for me. My IV was difficult because I have weak and rolling veins. The first two attempts failed and the nurse took the time to conferr with others and they came up with a solution that turned it into a GOOD experience. Pain meds and all others were given regularly and on time, I had a call button in the room that they were quick to respond to (there were only three or four of us in the ward though). The place was very quiet. My room was right off a breezway that led to the kitchen and dining area but it was still quiet. There was some outside construction but it was still quiet enough to be not a bother. I came from Seattle so my room felt too hot to me, we had a fan brought in but I really think it was generally fine. The hospital is dated in decor but being renovated and has no impact on quality. My surgeon checked on me a couple of times each day but was always just a call away if needed. At the hotel, if you can reach your doctor or not is likely you can but each surgeon handles that situation differently. I recommend Florence Oasis highly.

can you tell me more about your stay at the hotel? what did you do? stay in room and drink your water and sleep? do you go back tothe hopital or what?

The nurses were very nice , little english, getting IV in was an hassle just like in the US; been dehydrated made it worse . It took 4 nurses to get it in. Room was very nice, big glass wall that open to the downtown presented a beautiful view. I had no issue with temperature or noise. I got meds on time , nurses showed when I pushed call button. 19 inch flat screen on the wall provided all the entertainment with EDGE movie channel. private bathroom was clean . I would recommend . Stayed in Lucerna Hotel, choose to leave early after one night. I had no need to see the doctor but he visited anyways. I mostly stayed in watch TV and skype with family back at home.

Florence was great. I was there a little over 7 weeks ago. I only had one nurse who had limited English but the others were great. A doctor was there 24 hours a day and they were very attentive. It was peaceful, temp was great. I have no complaints really.

I didn't see any individual control for the air in the room, but it really was fine. I was only hot because I went from 35-45 degree weather to 70 degree weather in less than 3 hours... I was sweltering and they were all freezing. As for the IV... the nurses were excellent for me, and I am a tough case. I don't think they had any more or less trouble than I would here. I found their solution for me to be genious and compassionate... neither of which I've had before.

Yes, There is air conditioning. I actually used all my covers because I was kind of cold. The IV will be an issue because of the lack of fluids. Whether in Mexico or the US, that would be difficult for any Nurse.

I've had two surgeries where I had no food and water after going to bed. They had no problems with my veins. Also most experienced nurses should not have trouble with veins. For some reason a lot of people on here are having problems with Mexico nurses and veins. Makes me wonder if they have had any training.

My last surgery was in Houston at one of the best hospitals in the city and the nurse had troubles putting in my iv. The anesthesiologist was so upset because he had to re do it in the OR. So I just think it depends on the patient.

I was in Florence back in April, the nurses were great. I was really dehydrated so they waited to do my IV until I was in the OR and I didn't have issues with it after that. They are round the clock with nausea and pain meds, they come immediately when you call them and I never heard them. I only had one that didn't speak english. I went in early april and I thought the temp was fine. Dr Luna visited me everyday

I am at Florence hospital now. The nurses are very nice. Most of them speak English. No issues with the IV or anything else. The hospital seems small, but fully equipped. Rooms are private with a futon bed of sorts for your guest. AC is vey cold!!! Rooms have flat screen tv; however you can only get one channel which is in Spanish. I was told that this is due to them switching to digital. Other than that, so far so good.
