No I am new here too and it does take awhile to get noticed. I just keep harassing people!

Are you thinking about getting the sleeve or have you already scheduled your surgery?

Yeah I think there are a number of things that have to do with it. Time of day, certain times of day may be busier and your stuff may move down faster and get missed. Repetition, a lot of questions we all have, have been asked before and sometimes people get tired of repeating (only what I have read) If you do have a question though, I do recommend using the search bar up above and searching for the main topic.... Instead of "Will I have bad reflux" just put "reflux" or "Does anyone have xxxx insurance" just put the insurance name etc... I have found a lot of information. I also recommend finding "friends" a support group that relates to you (I found a nursing support group, because I am a nursing student) I have found a few people who either I have enjoyed following their story, or they have similarities to me. I try to send a note every few weeks or so just to see how they are doing. Hang in there, this is a great group I really enjoy it and I have received a lot of information.

Mine did my weight and went over goals. We discussed the surgery and what exactly it would entail, as well as what post surgery life would be like. I also did a preop consult with a group and went over drain care, pain management, food do's and donts, medication do's and donts. I asked a ton of questions!! I was given sample menus and a timeline of when I could begin introducing different stages of foods.

I started meeting with the surgeon before I was approved. I had to complete six months of weigh ins one psych eval and one nutritionist appt before I was approved by insurance. Once I got approval my surgery was two weeks later :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
