Is the hair loss like postpartum hair loss - a lot comes out but it eventually grows back? Or is it gone forever?

My nurse told me today that the surgeon will do an EGD while I'm still under anesthesia to check for leaks. My surgeon doesn't do a leak test the day after surgery like I've heard others do. She said my throat may be sore when I wake up. Did anyone else have this? My surgery is next week and I'm so excited and nervous.

I had thinning hair but take biotein Vitamins daily for that. It does get thicker the further out you get. You will not even notice the egd. I have barretts and have to have an egd once a year best nap all year long! You will do great. Good luck!

Mine did the leak test after surgery while I was still asleep...I didn't even know it! I asked him at my post-op apt.

I'm losing mine right now. It's not like I'm going bald, just thinning out a bit. I do have some new growth already tho so I'm happy about that.

My dr didn't do a leak test aside from the one she did while I was still on the table. My throat was sore for a bit, I also had a canker sore on my lower lip from where the intubation tube was resting which hurt for a few days.
